If i become a jedi guardian when im a level 7 scoundrel, when i level up, does my jedi level and my scoundrel go up? Or is it just the jedi one?

im making a scoundrel/guardian character, and i read that if you get stun enemies then sneak round the back, u get extra dammage, but i thought you needed to be invisable to do it.
Could somone explane to me how it works?

hey, i have just made a scoundrel character, and i was wondering what skills to increase, and what jedi class to choose, i wana be about to fight, but use the force too, and be able to do stealth stuff.
