Nah, I more think that bioware wants you to give up/spend more points in stealing, so you don't rob every area blind with a novice in stealing ;)

As far as I can see, there are no repercussions for a failed pickpocket. Thus the cooldown is a balancing measure to prevent pickpocket spamming. I am sure there will come along a trainer, or maybe there exists a cheat code, to remove cooldowns.

Go through the hall of heroes located on the middle of the map in the common quarters (I believe it's called, either way it's the district between the slum and diamond quarter.

I found a note in the Dead trenches in some rubble. It's a "poem" named: Load limit reached, and goes like this:

"Mass will have an effect" he says.
As long as it lifts us out, I figure
Should have specified "within my lifetime"
"give us time to talk" he says
"how's a dwarf get named Shepard?"
Up ...

On that note, how do you know if a weapon or armor can hold a rune in the PC edition? I'm still not certain.

On my computer x empty slots is shown on a weapon, which is filled out when I apply a rune. So my guess is that if you have a empty slot on the bottom of the weapon description, you can ...

Backstabbing underpowered when striking from the shadows?

I think that the backstabbing-damage when active and visible in a fight for a rogue is just fine, neither too low to make it pointless (in fact it is almost imperative in some cases), or too high to make it overpowered.

The problem I have however is that backstabbing when striking from stealth ...

I think the thought behind only letting one with the poison skill use poisoned weapons is that only one with skills in it can stop themselves by inadvertently cutting and poisoning yourself or something like that.

If interesting story, modern graphics and good combat animations are important for you, it seems odd indeed to go back to Baldur's Gate :P

... now that's a complaint. Since I'm still unsure whether or not to get this, only because I've promised to myself I wouldn't waste anymore cash on games out of newly released expectations... I have to ask. I wonder, maybe you have 19% after 40 hours because you've been caught up in fetch quests ...

Certainly, I guess I just like to be ignorant (and I feel like that is too realistic) of the general difficulty level of the area I am going to :)

Have to disagree with you. I think part of the magic (at least it was so for BG2) is to go to an area, be utterly and completely owned, try several times only to realise that you have to become stronger before you return. That would dissipate if you were told in advance if an area is hard/easy. Also ...

I wondered this myself, and did some research. Turns out they do some scaling, but nothing like oblivion, they call it persistent scaling: They give each area, with some exceptions, some level range: for example 5-8. If you're level 2, then the enemies will be at level 5, and you will most likely ...

Yes, but not the number in the BG series, which was my only point. :)

I agree with you, particularly from the strategic point of view, I would love to try to bring two healers along, because one rarely cuts it without lyrium and health potion. Admittedly, I think you can make morrigan a spirit ...

Strongly disagree. But then again, my expectations were close to zero at launch :D , so it was hardly possible to be disappointed. Rather, I've got rather enthusiastic about this game lately, and have been playing it almost non stop for the last couple of days. There are so many things I love about ...

I'll just note that the apprentice mage's initial challenge in the Fade (no spoilers, there) has strong overtones of PS:T in the character writing and archetypes--might even be a sort of nod of homage. Very good, despite the disappointing way riddles are handled (multiple choice).

Indeed, I found ...

I remember clearly how excited I was when Dragon Age was first announced, not such a short while after I first got to complete BG2. Then years went on, and we heard nothing. I found never winter nights to be extremely disappointing, and when Mass effect came out, I cared nothing for it, because the ...

You need to go look up what the term "Begging the question" means, because you are essentially using it to discredit your own argument. Which is fine by me, because you are using it accurately: Creating a questionable premise and answering it yourself, in an exercise of obviously circular logic ...

I'm not criticizing it for not being perfect, that would be stupid of me wouldn't it? But you know that, which is why you try and paint me into that corner, rhetorically. Shame on you. When I said it was boring I gave specific reasons: 1) Quests make you fight through aeylid-ruin-like dungeon ...
