If you're in the place I think you are, you CAN get into those rooms. There's a secret door in the hallway that leads into the south room. You'll run into some basilisks and a petrified sphynx. Caves N of Port Llast, Chapter 2 (Possible Spoiler?)
Does anyone know if the huts in the bugbear/goblin caves (lower level) can be opened at any point in the game? I've tried every door, but always receive the message "door is barred from the other side..." I figure there must be a way, else why would they highlight when you use the TAB key?

Woah, a little red in the face here. Seems that I'm too used to BG, BG2, IWD and IWD2 - the problem was I was targetting my character instead of an area for the spell. (I'm so used to casting the spell, THEN targetting the area...) Rookie mistake. Thanks to anyone who looked. Now you can all laugh ...

I'm only into the first chapter. My character is a human FTR 1/ WIZ 1/ CLERIC 4 with a WIS 17. I've chosen among my cleric spells both Monster Summoning I and II, however even after resting, the spells are inaccessible, including my Doom spell as well. The others are available and nothing I try ...
