And what about the avatar? Does the game use the first class' avatar, or the highest?
The highest. Asuming you start with 3 levels of bard, your avatar won't change to a mage's avatar until you reach level 4 as a wizard. Until then you'll look like any other bard/rogue

It's not out yet. The target release date is currently June 2003.
As for if it's good; Well, it's based on a great D&D module and is being made by the fine folks who brought us Arcanum, my personal guess is that it will live up to expectations

Yep. I did play it when I was but a young lad. My memory not being what it used to be, I'd be hard pressed to tell you much more than that though :)
I do remember enjoying it despite the D&D rules that I found a bit weird at the time...
What's really got me interested in this is that it's being ...

Dammit. I already restarted when I saw how good looking the new faces by Rhedd were and now this? ;) (I know, I could simply change the head through the console, but somehow it doesn't seem right :) ).
First Leiawen (Pretty Faces) and now Rhedd. One wonders why Bethesda didn't use modellers of ...

I'm also a big time restarter. I've only finished the game with a Fighter(6)/Cleric(13) but found the game way too easy past level 12 or so.
I've also played a ranger/rogue up to chapter 2 because I can't stand Tommy and wanted to take care of traps and locks the "right" way.
I'm currently playing ...

I've gone through the first chapter three times now, and the only skill I wouldn't do without is persuasion. There are many places where a gentle push in the right direction will help.
Unfortunately, in most cases, you can use a more direct "I'll bash your head in if you don't tell me" approach if ...

I find that the feats that are activated automaticaly are very useful for any class. Things like evasion, mobility, and such are great to survive those though few first levels...

Well, I'm very much a "restarter anonymous" member... :) So, after trying a variety of different combos, I've settled *crosses fingers* on a self made class that'll hopefully last the long run.
I made myself an Argonian "Grave Robber"
Specialization: Stealth
Stats:
Intelligence
Agility

The Magnus join problem has been fixed in the latest patch. You shouldn't have that problem if you have it installed.
Follower's reaction can shift if they are caught in friendly fire. Fireflash will do that, as well as pretty much anything else they get hit by... That's a problem that hasn't been ...

Conveyance. If only to access teleportation.
Besides that, it really depends on what type of character you're playing. If you intend to be hands on in combat, fire is good. Water is nice for the diplomat types... and so on.

If you want to steal and be cheesy about it, I suggest walking into the backroom of the magic shop in Tarrant when the shopkeep retires for the night. That way you don't have to pick the lock. Then, when he's in bed, use a 'fate point' to pick the lock on the chest at the bese of his bed (NOT the ...

I think they have said that the story is set roughly a generation after the events of IWD 1. The story is about some evil rising up and threatening the region... (Isn't this always what happens? ;) )

No more kits. 3E multi-classing has replaced them.
Has it been officialy announced? I thought that was just a possibility. Great if it is, though. I much prefer full multiclassing ability than some sort of hybrid system.

They've stated that, most probably, the skills and feats that would make it in are more of the combat variety than things like meta magic and such. Also, I highly doubt that climbing of any sort would make it in, since they are really pusing for a 'quick fix' to time with their release schedule.

J.E. Sawyer on the official site has made a post asking a “very hypothetical” question to fans: Would you like it if the game was fully 3rd Edition? Meaning, no more kits and full 3E multi-classing ability as well as a limited number (20-30) of feats included.
For now, the overall response seems to ...

Soule is working on the music but he's not the main composer. As stated by Darren Monahan:
"Actually, Inon Zur of Throne of Bhaal fame is scoring this incarnation. Mr. Soule is part of the project, however, in that he and Inon have been working together to keep the great feel and mood ...
