Yeah, that's one glaring weakness of HotU - the ridiculously overpowered weaponry. I think of HotU as being a training tool though, so those weapons really just give you a chance to see what things you like/dislike about various weapon effects before graduating to the "real world" :) .

One advantage to being a monk - no special properties for my "weapon" itself :) . Seriously though, dispelling the spirit should work just fine. There is even a "dispel magic" ring in another room on that level that you can use, if you are not a caster.

rotatable[/b]...) The problem with rotatable views is that you have to rotate around something, and that something is usually the character. I would rather use the mouse to pick the center of rotation, thouth this starts to get a bit clunky (perhaps rotation should simply occur around the center of ...

Well, since you can have 2(+) henchmen in HoU, you might want to add Deekin to your party for the identifies when you head up the well, then drop him.

I know, I know - there are better NPCs out there, but somehow, I just really got to liking his attempts at "non-koboldness", and use him regularly ...

OK! I just tried 3 things. I started a save game with 2 unidentified items - a +3 shield, and the Hearth Shield (tougher).

I asked Sharwyn, out-of-party, to ID my items - nothing happened. I added her to the group, and asked again - she identified the +3 shield, but not the hearth shield, and there ...

5) For the reason above, my copy of Baldur's Gate II isn't compatible with this italian version, hence I can't import my character >.< Actually, when NwN ended up being released using (more-or-less) the AD&D 3.0 rule set, Bioware realized that importing characters from BG was not possible - so they ...

I think he was just kidding Yeah - but I am used to working with folks from francophile countries, and using "demand" is a common mistake (was guessing from the title, "appreciations", as well). I figured that if The Jester wasn't doing it on purpose, that someone should tell him(her?), since he ...

One note: I assume you are a native french-speaker. The word "demand" in english translates roughly to "exigence", so it is a forceful requirement. The "polite" translation you are looking for is "request" (from "requête" of course). Unless you are looking to anger people :) .

I generally role-play; though when soloing I will resort to the minimum amount of tweaks needed to survive the ToB boss encounters. I played around a while with pushing the game engine hard, powerplaying and munchkinization, but I fould it extremely boring because the game was so trivial. Even NwN ...

What I find funny is that the Robe of Vecna, IMO, is actually much more powerful than the "real" artifacts, the Hand and Eye, but doesn't come with any of the drawbacks that traditional artifacts do. Err - did, 20+ years ago, anyway, so maybe my data is just a bit dated :) .

Oh, yes. But I just can't NOT use my spells if I'm a mage :) That's another way the Vecna Robe is so cheesy - you can cast almost any spell, even mid-combat, with it on. In fact, it's likely you can even cast those ADHW spells. Your silly melee opponants rarely fight you with elemental melee ...

There is a slight change of gaining 100K party EXP on a false setting (at least I think that was the amount). I spent too many man-hours loading the MoLtM save, and tinkering with all combinations (at least, until I was imprisoned/turned to stone/etc :) ). Gotta love "experiential combinatorics" :)

If BG3 ends up (as most of us hope) a optionally-controlled party tactical game, then it really has to be turn-based, rather than RTS, as it is difficult for the average game player to control multiple characters to the level of detail required.
also maybe try to add some epic battles The real ...

Yoshimo did this to me regularly, as well, on my 1st run-thru. The battle would end, and about 1 time in 4, he would start firing arrows at me (even when no spells were cast). Well, 1 arrow, before I clicked on him at turn end and redirected him. I regularly changed the AI script (once I learned ...

If you were particularly fascinated by the BG2 story line, Brynn, you might want to rummage around a bit on the Planescape:Torment forum - another game that used the Infinity game engine.

Yeah - this is one of those fights in BG2 that is a 1-shot tactical puzzle. I am glad that there are so few of these encounters that are trivial the 2nd+ time around; that said, I did have "fun" figuring out how to kill him that initial try, tho. I hate to whine about BG2 on these issues - rare ...
