As for the components, they're pretty rare. In general, you can get better stuff if you craft, but not by nearly as much as it would seem.
The big improvement available is Mithril Armor. It's an extra few points of AC that simply cannot be replaced. Shields however, are best bought. (There are some ...

Quick Question: Taking Out Keep Funds (Mild Spoilers)
Simple enough really. I'm in Act II, and I've already finished building everything I could. At the moment, even with no taxes (only the Appraise thing on the merchants), I'm still making 5k a turn, and have something like 60k in Keep Funds available. I'll probably have even more by the time I'm done ...

Who are the best Merchants? (Mild Spoilers)
Simple enough question. Which merchants buy things for the best prices?
I know that Sand in Act I would buy things for about triple the price anyone else would offer, but I eventually ran him out of money (and progressed to Act II).
Will anyone else offer equally good prices, at any point in the ...

Oooh, hard choice. Going by the original (I don't have NWN2 just yet...bleh)
For lower levels (before 15 or so), I prefer Wizards. They get several extra feats over the course of the game, which is always good, and they get new spells a level faster. Getting that Fireball a dungeon or two earlier ...

Can't Beat Ascension Final Battle: HELP!
As the title says, I'm having serious problems beating the Five in the last battle of Ascension.
Now, I'm playing on core rules, and quite frankly, think that I've had a very good runthrough the game, (my first complete one). The only seriously difficult battle I've had all game was Kangaxx, every ...

There is. Go into the Gamebanshee sections for BGII "Books of Lore" And look through for the Dead Three. It only covers their actual ascendance though, and tells very little about them themselves.

Ummmmm Never?
This'll be my third run through, but I hope to finish it this time.
First time out, I basically didn't plan out my party at all. Pretty much, whoever I picked up first stayed. My main character was a thief, with Imoen, Jaheira, Minsc, Aerie and Anomen. Too much thievery, but I was at ...

I'm playing on Core Rules. I'm thinking of upping that one level since I did everything possible in Ch. 2, at least until I return to Amn.
I've killed Shangalar, wasn't particularly difficult. (Mace of Disruption). The Mage got killed by her own pit fiend, and Vampires are suprisingly vulnerable ...

Well, most of my characters are around level 14-16. (Viconia is 16), so after getting Cernds Brain eaten twice, I basically just turned off AI, position my guys in the corridor, summoned five skeleton warriors in front, and opened the door with an invisible gnome. Then just cast Death Spells until ...

I thought this thread had died, but geuss not, so heres the update:
I'm nearly on my way to chapter Four. I've finished Bodhi's quests, done virtually everything, all I have left is the Twisted Rune, Kangaxx, and the Illithids in the sewers. Relevant points are as follows:

I suspect I won't worry about it. Even though his AC is the most miserable by far of all my characters, (five), he actually seems to die the least.
The Characters that die the most are Cernd and Korgan, since they're usually in melee, followed closely by Viconia, though I take more care around her ...
