It's too damn late now. Aaargh I am ticked off. I also can't get Atton to tell me about his past. Every time, it's an influence failure. Aargh.

NPC Walkthroughs

Guides as to what you have to do to gain Influence with the various party members would be very useful, and I can't find any.

I find the Influence system to be quite annoying, you have to drag characters along with you to get Influence, and it's very easy to miss things. I've probably screwed up ...

But if they screw it up, I will cry tears of rage and unfulfillable vengeance.

Also, I think I saw the screenshots for the Troika PA game here at GB.

Right about now, I'd pay money for a game using the Fallout 2 engine. I'd pay money for a big, high-quality mod. Screw graphics!

The Great Hairy sez:

Note that BIS was owned by Interplay, who made that console game. Absolutely no guarantee that if BIS was making F3, they'd make a "good" version.

*I didn't say there was a guarantee. I mentioned that the last 2 Fallout games were lousy.*

And if Trokia was making it - it ...

Crap. I guess I won't be getting anywhere with Atton then. I wanted to know the backstory! I mean, I've gathered what it is already, but ffs, this is annoying.

Another funny thing about the games I mentioned: BIS was responsible for a lot of them, and Bioware had something to do with several.

The people responsible for killing BIS should be punished. It was a heinous crime against every E(lectronic)RPGer who doesn't prefer repetitive PS2 rubbish.

[QUOTE=The Great Hairy]The simple reason that Fallout 1 & 2 have a lot of fans, and if made "correctly" will make a lot of money.

Don't get down on Bethesda just yet. I would agree with you, Sinc, that Morrowind is a little hollow in feeling (and I really didn't like Daggerfall or Arena) but that ...

Call of Cthulhu

The game of Lovecraftian horror. Everybody who's a real dicechucker has heard of it, but not enough have played it.

Why is it so great?
1. The setting. The "Cthulhu Mythos" allow the Keeper (GM) to make a lot of personal choices as to how things go.
2. The character system is the best. Forget ...

If you gave up on Fable, I would see no reason to play the thing through. I only realised I didn't like Fable until after I was done playing it. Basically I threw away 20-30 hours of my life.

What's this airspeeder on Nar Shadaa? I'm currently on Dxun, first time. Would I be able to get to Nar Shadaa?

I fixed up an airspeeder in the Serroco section of the Refugee area on Nar Shadaa, and used it once. The airspeeders elswhere all say they're sabotaged.

Is it possible to get influence with Atton without killing innocents? Somehow I doubt it with HK-47, but Atton?

It's bloody annoying, I tells ya.

How deep is the story of PS:T?

I'm trying to figure out how "deep" the story is. Not how *original* it is, amnesia as a plot device is pretty old, although I must say that Torment does it amazingly well (I must say that Torment could qualify as the best electronic RPG I have ever played, jostling with Fallout 2 and Arcanum for ...

Back in 2nd ed AD&D, getting to level 20 MEANT something, and took a lot of time and effort.

Now, thanks to power inflation in RPGs, quite a bit of which can be attributed to the influence of electronic games, everything is turning into damn monty haul games.

20th level once meant near to being a ...

Sure, ComRPG's might not have been isometric traditionally, nor would ConRPG's, but the *best* ones are that way.

Fallout 1 and 2, Baldur's Gate (not 2, as far as I'm concerned, it bit), Planescape:Torment (one of the best and most underrated games ever, I believe, this game had a golden plot ...

Bethesda's probably going to ruin it. They're not BIS, they're not even Troika (great at thinking, not so great at delivering fully finished games).

They're most likely going to make Morrowind a la Wasteland. I know a lot of people liked Morrowind, but I found it to be a fundamentally empty ...

I'd say it was a lot like Halo, in that it's overrated. In a big way. It's barely even an RPG, for crying out loud. It's Zelda 64 with twiddling.

My character getting scars is not going to make up for a plot archetype that wasn't very good when Oog cracked it out while around the cave's fire. My ...

Hanharr? How is one supposed to get Hanharr? My brother finished the game with a male character, and I don't think he ever got him.

As for Atton: I don't think he's dark. And how is one supposed to kill innocent civilians? There's no combat option for them, is there?

If you want to ***** about the KotOR games, do it as I, a hardened dicechucker, do: KotOR is nothing like the d20 Star Wars RPG!
-Vitality points is just hit points like in D&D, there are no wound points.
-Armour is just a defence boost, like in D&D.
-Combat is a hell of a lot less "big ...
