I have managed to overcome this bug by reloading a save game in Targos and starting over with the crash site...

I have done so - loaded a previous game - but the entry into the "5" area is still blocked. Moreover, the Alt-key does highlight all other doors, but not the one leading to the 5-passage. Perhaps I have to restart from the crash site...

Yes, I killed the crystal golem and yes, I mean passage "5" leading to the Queen and not the door, behind which Zack is whining.

Not necessary to proceed? What does that mean?

Okay, that's advise, but I chose two rogues at the beginning so that both got many skill points, can deal with traps, locks and can pickpocket the NPCs, have proficiency with bows etc. and for the hit points. I chose ranger for the drow so that he can dual-wield light weapons (with weapon finesse ...

If I hadn't made a severe wrong decision, I would prefer not to start over again :)
I know about the XP penalty, but I have wilfully decided to ignore that because
(i) in a party of two, the penalty of 20% is not so drastic as the leveling is still comparably fast
(ii) the levels stay in a range ...

So ... I have decided to start over again with a party of two and now ask for your advise re feats/skills/spells:

First Char
Drow male NE Rogue1/Ranger1/SorcererXX
Stats: 8/20/10/14/8/20
Feats (til now): Dodge, Weapon Finesse, Expertise
Skills: Diplomacy, Bluff, Intimidate, Hide, Move silently ...

Yeah, I guessed so, but I find it a little weird that the XP is shared unequally between the party member, even if the different ECLs are taken into account. That would mean that characters with a higher ECL receive a bigger share of the XP and therefore slow the level progress of the whole party ...

I am playing IWDII for the first time and I am a bit curious, how the XP are divided within my party. Why are the gained XP not equally distributed between the party members? The drow receives the most XP, followed by the two aasimars and then the human. Thus, the drow has now about 10,000 XP ...
