I like wild elves and half-orcs. I actually played a party with two wild elf sorcerors and 2 orc barbarians without any multiclassing... didn't finish though... the heal times drove me nuts for some reason.

From a power perspective Aasimaars and Svirfs form the backbone of the more insane builds ...

One way to use a ranger is as to toughen up your rogue.

A high DEX, medium strength type of fighter character. rangers have class ascess to a lot of rogue skills like hide and seach.

A human makes good sense, you can mix rogue and ranger freely without multi class xp penalties and get extra ...

You seem to be enjoying yourself, so more power to you.

Personally, I find the Malkavian lines overdone. They can give a good laugh but that is not really what Malkavian lunacy is about. The Grout tapes are good.

The outfits are the same. Overdone. Like Jeanette.

Just my 2 cents.

I am progressing nicely with my Brujah and after a few missions i can indeed work the social and sneaky sides of the game with at least some success.

I guess I overestimated the importance of disciplines, my bad for blabbering on a game i haven't played.

That haunted hotel really spooked me ...

yeah i suppose...

Bear with me as i drift somewhat...

The game should just limit the XP so that you couldn't buy everything.

I think - all other things being equal - that expanding the discipline combinations would increase replayability.

Now you have seven combinations of advantages ...
brujah - had no trouble but the fighting side is strong with this clan. spending XP can make brujah capable of most things.
Alrighty. Nice. I deal with hand given to me and start to practice my skills then I guess :)

I still don't understand why I can't buy Dominate or ...

Essensially IWD2 is all about powergaming or oddity gaming (that is making truly odd characters and make them work). It is indefinately more interesting than roleplaying with a bitmap imo. So you have to do nonsense like saying "I roleplay a Barbarian by having him use a Greataxe of Deah and Doom ...
on a side note, a probably dumb question:

what happens to spellcasters past level 20? I of the spell known (where applicable) and spells per day progression up to level 20... then as per the actual rules in D&D, there is no progression past that. How does Icewind Dale 2 handle that ...

The Druid is awesome

And they do fine in HOF. They have summon spells out the wazoo.
