I suggest getting the savegame editor "Shadowkeeper" and adding the heart manually. The lists there are sorted by item name, not internal codes, so it's easy to find.

Shadowkeeper is a handy tool to have for the many, many bugs and glitches you can encounter :/

I tested the WS as an Archer now (without ToB though, still can't get it to install);

I have to say, it is indeed impressing. Rendering Mages utterly useless within seconds, as well as crippling bosses is quite a substantial advantage.

That being said, I toyed around with them a bit and came ...

25 STR does very nasty things and should not be overlooked. As far as offhand bonuses go, there are few weapons that come close to Crom. That being said, you should probably give it to whoever makes the most out of the monster strength. Remember that offhands will only have 1 attack and they are ...

I see your point. Still, I am not entirely convinced it is that much better.

Cannon Fodder: even if there are some, you can usually safely ignore them and rush right past to punch the mage's face in. I don't recall any fight where I was seriously troubled getting to the mage in time; or, if that is ...

It's only one component of one single mod and all it does is exactly what you want in this case: magical armor + rings. No parting seas of any color, only that.
The only downside is that it will work for all the armors, which is why I said, remedy by showing personal restraint and not equipping ...

I see your point, but then again is it really necessary? If you're already using an Anti-Paladin, mages should drop like flies even without WS's. And especially against the big, hard-hitting bosses (like, say, Pontifex) I like my Called Shots. Tbh I have never really had that much trouble ...

I disabled everything remotely dangerous, plus installing shouldn't be affected by a firewall anyway (at least not a game this old). The CD drive is obviously not to blame as I have tried installing from a virtual drive as well, with exactly the same results.

The Bioware page files it all under a ...

The Tactics Mod's Archer/Mage or Archer->Mage are quite insane. Stacking Called Shots with Energy Blades or even just MiniMets is fun :D

Do you really need something that specific to keep you from cheating your own principles? Just use BG Tweaks and uh, don't pair any magical armor with jewelry EXCEPT for the dragon scale armor. Have faith!

Weird ToB Install Error - Anyone Help?

Hey everyone,

it's been ages but I finally dug up the old game to rock the Realms once again. Everything worked fine on my desktop PC, but when I tried to install it on my laptop as well, I encountered some weird problems.

SoA installs and plays perfectly fine. However, when I try to install ToB ...

[QUOTE=Thrifalas]
You are right that F/M/T can solo most places, if played correcly. However, tellins us that they can summon planetars makes it hard to believe that you've done it yourself. If you had, you would know that a 3-way class won't hit enough xp/class to cast lvl9 arcane spells. It's ...

Fighter/Thief is a decent melee class. Not the best, but decent. What makes this class so interesting is in fact its versatility. Thief skills on a warrior body are very good for low-member play, better than a Barbarian meat tank that can do little more than stand there delivering/taking blows.

As ...

"smallest, functional, highly effective party" - You do realize that you can very easily solo this game (umodded)?

Well, solo is not exactly a "party" so a 2-member party would be the smallest actual "party". Try Kensai->Mage with Berserker->Cleric for example. Or Fighter/Mage/Thief with Ranger ...

Let's just analyze it a bit deeper:

Pride
Good: +20% Fire, Cold, and Electric Resistance
Evil: 200k XP

Alright so this is a no-brainer. +20 Elemental Resistances vs. some XP? Please, XP can be obtained anywhere, but those bonus resistances are SICK!

Fear
Good: Gain immunity to normal & +1 weapons ...

Btw, is it just me or do the Good bonuses seem so much better than the Evil ones?

Basically, you can't really screw up the game progress by killing people. Even if you try, they run away or something before they die. The only thing that might happen would be an actual game bug, save reloads for that.

As for Carston... Spoiler below

Well, I tried it. I poked Pontifex, while Demogorgon began his conquer of the mortal plane.

Unfortunately, the only way I managed to defeat them, was using Projected Planetars cheese. Too unfair :/

I tried it with a completely buffed, completely armed high-level party, but it was too tough without ...

Indeed, fighting Demogorgon outside the Keep has its advantages. You've got lots of space to use and the stairs and stuff can be used very strategically.

As for Pontifex, I'd say he's the toughest enemy I faced yet. The Dragons at the improved pass are nothing compared to him. Just buff a quick ...

It really depends on your party. My parties normally have no problem finishing Watcher's Keep before going off for the Asylum.

If you like roleplaying, with full 6-people parties of "softcore" characters, you'd better wait until the end of SoA or even the beginning of ToB. Several parts of Watcher ...

@lompo: Well that's exactly my question. How many people offer the highest power-level? The more people you have, the slower you levelup, the less people you have, the less diverse are your skills.

So far, my K/M/T + AP/M party has turned out very powerful. I had no problem even beating tougher ...
