With the multi CD version I've had the a disc 2 problem and had to reinstall the game. Maybe you could try to copy all of the CDs onto your C drive and install from there. Well you can be a blood war mercenary. Look at the Godsmen crafting that huge laser. You can still take part if you want but if you die you may be forced to.
