I disagree with you on that, along with a lot of other persons in this forum. Jaheira can be a very good NPC if used in the correct way.

Kick Jaheira - unless you plan to keep her as sacrifice NPC in hell, in case you're evil :D .

Jesters are careless, foolish and given to whimsical decisions, yet they seem to possess some uncanny ability which allows them to survive in almost any situation.
Sounds good.

Some nice abilities there, but nothing that unbalances the game.

If you are the kind of person to get into PS:T, there's nothing like it. BG2 is the overall best CRPG ever, because overall it has so many virtues. PS:T is likely the one with the most genius, it's a piece of art.

Two? As in " No death, no reload "?? Man, I certainly loved that thread of yours!!!

I just logged in for the first time since long ago myself. I played BG2 around the same time like you and got a little hooked on Dragon Age during the last weeks. Otherwise I didn't play much between 2003 and now ...

If you like NWN 2 you'll like this one for sure. I agree with Xandax that BG1 is probably the game to compare DA:O with.

My first post for years here. ;)

At first I thought it was a disappointment, because DA:O was greeted as BG2's successor. Of course, no such successor will ever exist, for at least two reasons: BG2 was simply a unique masterwork and it was based on AD&D second edition, which is now dead.

DA:O ...

Fighting Demogorgon and Pontifex at once outside Watcher's Keep (lured Demogorgon outside, while Pontifex was already there).

The character you've encountered is Arkanis Gath and he appears if you attack the shadow thieves, for example Renal, if you've sided with the shadow thieves. He's obviously there to avoid players breaking the plot.

You can kill him with stat drain, as mentioned above. The only to do so would be to ...

Another problem would be the random nature of the game (dice rolls, e. g. attacks, saving throws, damage).

A GWW that scores ten criticals is one thing, ten critical misses are something else. Disintegrate may dust an opponent on the spot or may not. And so on.

Of course we could SK the characters ...

I would approach different classes with different tactics. Would you give us a starting "target" to attack (class, level, active spells / protections / items)?

Please also state which classes are ruled out - MC, DC, Druids, Bards, Sorc, anything else?

What about contingencies / triggers? No ...

It's definately unpredictable.

Could characters prepare themselves? If the Mage or Sorc can load contingencies / triggers before the fight, the thief would be outright dead. If the thief could trap the area, the mage / sorc would be outright dead. Etc.

There is no such thing as a strongest ...
