Did you try "Remove Curse"? Curses don't go away after resting and can't be dispelled or cured. Did you try hasting or creating Melf's Meteorites (they have 5 attacks per round and I don't think that number can be changed) to see what happens?

I personnaly don't use it, I've beaten BG I, TOSC, BGII and IWD without using it so I don't see why I'd need it for TOB. Just telling those that it might interest.
