Carceri... I'm not sure, to be honest.

As for the mortuary, try to avoid entering by asking the front gate guards to let you in, unless you're still a Dustman. Instead, ask Pax the collector to smuggle you in (by feigning or being dead), or get killed some other way (say, asking Dak'kon to kill you).

Merging with the practical incarnation means you have to look into his eyes and merge with him. He'll agree to it, because he think that he's going to be taking over you, not vice versa. Whether you win or he does depends on whether or not you have great wisdom or intelligence. If you have enough ...

There are several ways to get back into the mortuary. Some of them work. Some of them don't.

1) Ask the gate guards to let you in. Generally, this works if you are, and still are, a member of the Dustmen. It causes the game to crash otherwise.

2) Get Pox to take you in. Either you can fake being ...
Do you have to charm Stale Mary before doing Hargrimm's quests? Because I raised my Charisma through some quests then cast friends on myself, came back to talk to Stale Mary and she still ignores my questions about the Silent King. So I could never get in.
Yes. You ...

To be more specific, if you're still dealing with the Silent King's guards, you're still in Dead Nations, not Drowned Nations. You can get out of Dead Nations by doing a bit of work for Hargrimm the Bleak, or by finding out the Silent King's status by teleporting in by charming Stale Mary. My ...

What alignment would YOU have given PST's follower-NPCs?

As written, the alignments are:

Morte: CG
Dak'kon: LN
Annah: CN
FFG: LN
Ignus: CN
Nordom: CN
Vhailor: LN

What do you think? I think they should be:

Morte: CN
Dak'kon: LN
Annah: CN
FFG: LG
Ignus: CE
Nordom: NG (not normal NG, but good, and extremely lawful and extremely chaotic at the same time ...

By all means, go ahead. I pretty much pirated them verbatim from other sources, so I really wouldn't have a leg to stand on denying you the right to use them, even if I wanted to, which I don't. :)

Planescape-like moral parables...

Some of the neat things in Planescape are all the sorta folky stories and moral parables that are put in. Anyway, I thought I'd add some stories that I read elsewhere that reminded me of Planescape: Torment, writing them as they would be written in Torment, so to speak. Add your own if you want ...

With 3 and 3.5 edition D&D, I think all campaign settings except Forgotten Realms and Eberron were, de facto, obsoleted. Planescape was spun off to an unofficial third party (http://www.planewalker.com). I think Akin and his like were all developed under the auspices of 2nd edition AD&D.

Mar, understandably, isn't too eager to meet you after the whole box quest. There's a small, columned courtyard (sounds nicer than it is), also with lots of dead Lim-Lims in it, a bit to the northwest of where you met him originally. It's in the same part of the Hive: it's just about half a screen ...

Apparently, in the Planescape campaign setting, there's a good Arcanaloth in Sigil named Akin, so Fall-from-Grace being good evidently isn't out of bounds.

Oh: I ignored the possibility that the fact that TNO didn't have a name (that he knew of) actually allowed Jumble Murdersense to curse him without knowing his name, whereas Reekwind knowing his name without Jumble knowing it would have protected Reekwind if only he'd kept his mouth shut.

On fighters being overpowered in hack 'n' slash games -- I'm not sure about that. In most hack 'n' slash games I've played, D&D style "spell slot" magic is replaced with a "mana bar" style magic system, which regenerates in minutes and can further be increased by drinking potions or something of ...

Favorite party-follower NPC: Fall-from-Grace. She is, in my view, the best portrayal of lawful good that I've seen (forget stuck-up, detect-evil-and-smash-it paladins). Open minded without compromising principles, wisdom without arrogance, justice without fanaticism, etc. Also, with the common-ness ...

I've heard -- though never witnessed -- that Vhailor becomes incredibly powerful if you resurrect him in the Fortress of Regrets, because then you finally spill the beans about what a bad dude you and TTO are, and Vhailor gets justice to lend him strength to kill you and TTO (by attacking TTO, of ...

(weird question) Did TNO have any kids?

I wonder whether TNO had any children throughout his hundreds of lives. You never meet any of them in Torment, but it seems unlikely that he could live hundreds of lives, following every path life can offer, and never happen to become a father.

After thinking about this, I came to the conclusion ...

Immediately after you get Aelwyn and Nemelle back together, Nemelle walks over to Aelwyn's bar, but rather slowly, so she might be at the bar with Aelwyn, rather than the bar with Able Ponder-Thought that she's usually at. Or she might be back at the original bar with Able. Or, if this is JUST after ...

Planescape setting and Torment

I'm just curious, are there any big divergences between the Planescape setting from TSR and PS: T? I know that there are some things about PS: T that diverge from the D&D 3.5 online d20 thingamajiggy. For example, undead, if they have minds at all, are always supposed to be evil which I don't think ...
