Software question.

Post by Fronkets »

I've been a huge fan of Planescape: Torment for years.

Hell, it's quite possibly my favorite game out there.

But, each time I've tried to re-play it, I've encountered a problem. During the loading process, the game encounters an error and crashes.

The first time, it was just before heading into Carceri, and now it happens when I attempt to make my way into the first floor of the Mortuary.

To make matters worse, there's no real elaboration on what the error is.

Has anyone had the same problem, or do they have any suggestions?

Carceri... I'm not sure, to be honest.

As for the mortuary, try to avoid entering by asking the front gate guards to let you in, unless you're still a Dustman. Instead, ask Pax the collector to smuggle you in (by feigning or being dead), or get killed some other way (say, asking Dak'kon to kill you).

Bad disk(s)? Maybe spend 10 bucks and buy it again. Try for the two-disk version...
Why is it that whenever I finally get around to playing a new game for the first time,
I feel like playing Baldur's Gate for the second time...

You know, it occurs to me that this problem's only occurred since I got this last copy. Which was the two disc.. but, you know.. might've just been bad luck.

Thanks for helping me see the obvious, really. I hadn't considered it might be the discs until now. Kept thinking it was something I'd done after installation. I'm going to pick up another copy some time soon. If that doesn't work, I'll just go back to whining about my bad luck. xD

The Obvious is only obvious when you're looking for the Obvious. Good luck, my brotha'!
