It is a sea spirit similar to a nymph or a dryad. They are not known for being very nice. Not evil but by all means not very nice.

I tried reinstalling and the little box with play/configure pops up rather than uninstall. If I click on anything I get an error message like "Line assertion failure" or whatever...

Technical question.

I recently had to uninstall several games (BG1, BG2, IWD and others) due to some storage problems. Now that I have more room on my drive I tried to reinstall all my games. They all reinstalled great except for my Black Isle games. BG 1&2 and Icewind Dale all will not reinstall due to 'line assertion ...

I'm not the smartest guy on the planet but I do consider myself a decent high average (smart enough to not vote for G.W. Bush, or would that be a wisdom check?) But I have a great memory retention and decent reasoning skills. In school I could perfectly pass tests without ever studying for them and ...

Not wanting to go OT here but I think this will help out a bit for anyone wanting to Gauge their own stats. The Skills & Powers book divided the stats into 2 sub-stats as mentioned. The player can then use his/her score and modify it by one or two points. Example:

Str 14 Muscle 16 Stamina 12
Dex 17 ...

Intelligence and education are not the same thing. Someone can be uneducated (which isn't always their fault) but still be a very smart individual. In the 2nd edition Skills & Powers supplements they broke each stat into two sub-stats.

Strength: Muscle & Stamina
Dexterity: Aim & Balance ...

When I ran into Shank I did what I would do and ran to the guards. They just watched as the guy tried to stab me! Jerks.
Then they are doing what city police do in real life!

Red Robed Mage in Nashkel Maybe Spoilers.

There is a strange red robed mage in Nashkel who approaches by the Temple. Can't remember his name. It isn't Edwin. He confronts me, I kill him and then he goes boom. He doesn't come very often. Who is this guy?

I'm a decent sized guy but my strength isn't what it used to be. I was at a 17 back when we started doing that campaign. I'm old now and don't work out like I used to. Str is easy to gauge, simply do some standard military presses and check your result with the STR chart in the players handbook. INT ...

Pretty good idea, Blackraven. Years and years and years and years ago when in my 20's :o My pen & paper D&D and Champions group did this and it was quite fun. Makes you have a bit more respect for your character as it is YOU. I like the idea.

We found it best to let others rate our abilities ...

Well, for the "every character suddenly lvl 1" thing, u could save all those silly, weak minor quests for this. Like some of the graveyard quests and the errand type quests. It worked well for me.

Want your Want you paladin/assassin/mage to be able to make weapons and armour too? No worries we'll invent 'crafting', ignore the irrationality, just do your thing!"

Well said, good sir! Turd edition is quite idiotic and the sole reason I quit playing D&D. Buzzards of the Coast ruined the game.
