I currently have a 6th level elf fighter. I had a bunch of magic items that needed identifying. I went decided to add a NPC wizard and have him do the identifying. All goes well until I run out of money and find out that he takes my money. Also then he takes my stuff.

Is there a reason I shouldn't ...

I am playing TOEE without trying to get any reading any spoilers. I do have a gameplay question though. Should I include alot of NPCs? Are there side quests or gameplay issues associated witht he NPCs selecte (like Baldurs Gate)?

Is there a console command to activate a shortcut to move around quickly? I am getting sick of moving around on an already displayed map.
