Witches guild

Hello all.

I was sent on a quest to a small village pretty much in the middle of Daggerfall. It had ca. 10 houses and I was supposed to look up someone (can't remember who or what for). I finally located the house, saved, and entered and initiated conversation.

The person was actually a witch ...

Spoiler

Tracking the booze hound huh. As far as I remember you can find this in the walkthru section BUT - I believe it suffices to go talk to Corvinus (Is that his name? The quest giver anyhow) after you've rummaged through his desk and checked for any documents or stuff that may be lying ...

Bit of a spoiler for a new Morrowind fan

First of all, LOL @
This is a pain,
Second of all, unless you have some very powerful spells/potions/scrolls levitating is really not worth the trouble as it will quite likely get you to your destination slower than on foot. Instead ...

Yep! I used recall...

Damn, all these years... I've always felt there was something missing...a void in my heart...a thorne in my shoe...the faint cry of the yellow-golden cat.

Oh yes, to be sure...the lack of sweet accreditus from a gray, half-naked, hovering, pixelized elf(/swamp)-thing has ...

I know it sucks but have you tried lowering the screen resolution?
Granted, it does however sound more like a softwarish kind of issue...

My 2 cents: If it bothers you sufficiently, copy your save games and reinstall, see what happens.

Actually I believe the difficulty of foes you find are location bound... - (And no, I don't mean the ''L'' in Dunning's OLI Paradigm :D ) Anyway, the creatrues/enemies are specific to a certain geographical area, and as you advance through the game your quests will lead you to more adverse areas. So ...

Hard to find - really???

Locate the woman that gave you the heirloom quest, levitate over the mountains. Once in the fault between two mountain chains (leading ultimately to Ghostgate) go right (app. south) and at the end of the fault on your right you will find the cave... That's it.

Odd that noone has been all over this thread...

Honestly, it depends on a few different factos such as your knowledge of the game, your "skills'' (''Chicks want guys who have cool skills''), the items you've found so far and so on...

Well...judging by the sheer volume of hugely enthusiastic replies I feel compelled to get the BG series.

Leaves Morrowind in the dust? And Daggerfall?

Thanks for the input!!

There goes the finals... :D

Maybe you're musically challenged... :D

You realize it's the actual tones produced by the stones and not the physical order that you have to follow...

Arm yourself with patience and listen carefully, I'm sure you'll get it.
Also, there are 2 melodies being played... imitate them step by step.

Hate to be a nit-picker...BUT I gotta tell you - Solstheim, Jewish my ass.

The name has more of a Germanic ring to it and the reason why you find it Jewish sounding is simply because all through the 20th century, Jewish immigrants from Germany and Eastern Europe (and other parts of Europe)have been ...

Is BG II worth getting?

Hiya,

I'm thinking about buying baldur's gate II however I'm not quite sure whether or not the game will be to my liking. I'm a fan of ("hardcore") RPGs - Elder Scrolls series etc. and I'd like to ask you guys

1) Whether to get Baldur's Gate I or II - and why. And why is it a great game?
2) Would ...

I have exactly the same problem but I chose the simple solution of not using the incompleted quest entries... And yeah, I have the latest Mw patch.

Since I got the GOTY edition I never used it though so I don't even think but it anymore.

Anyway... I'd also like to know ...

Use a spell

If you're impatient about splitting locks (and outta cash for training) you can also buy a spell to open locks such as Ondusi's locksplitter(??)...and then proceed to "create a spell" with a 100 pt "open rate", your alteration skill will have to be sufficiently high to run the spell ...

Problems actually completing the quest to defeat Dagoth Ur (Possible spoiler)

Get righ to it...

I've just defeated DAgoth Ur, killed him before he fell in the lava.
He's dead - bang.

Subsequently when I go up to Vivec he just carries on with the procedure for defeating Dagoth Ur. I have received no acknowledgement or acclaim for my slaying of Dagoth Ur from anyone ...
