Ascension does work with SCSII. In fact, you can add the SCSII AI to Ascension, so to speak, as an option.

If you are not using Improved Anvil, I'd probably go with the G3 stuff. I think the correct order of the stuff you listed is G3 tweakpack and then SCSII as the last ones installed. At least ...

The level1 NPC mod seems to work OK. I tried it once. Still, I usually make any changes myself using Shadow Keeper. I'm another one of those people who like the NPC banter but enjoy trying an assortment of class combinations (much more varied than just stock NPCs) in a team of characters.

Does this help? Sorry for the waste of a post if it doesn't.
Of course it helps, because it shows interest in this thread. I encourage everyone to try Improved Anvil if it peaks your interest. Do so now, because Sikret makes every new version harder than the previous one!

I have already beaten ...

Don't expect false dawn to help vs drow.

White dragon!? You are evil! (It's supposed to be a silver dragon. ;) )

Imprisonment is probably not a good spell in the unmodded game. You will lose loot unless you cast freedom and kill it. Then you may get XP a second time, if I recall, which is ...

Nope, I misread it as that they do stat kill, time stop and such things against you. ^^

Fortunately not, those 42 HP whacks are enough to deal with. :D

My problem is that I have somewhat adapted to the difficulty of Improved Anvil. After that, other games seem too easy.

However, when I'm ...

I have to agree with Crenshinibon concerning the value of fighter-mage types (including blades) as tanks. Even the poor THAC0 and rate of attack can be forgiven considering that the blade can be almost invulnerable (as long as his spells last). Monsters in the unmodded game make poor targeting ...

The intention of this thread was to spur interest in IA of the expert players and warn off those people who have never really experienced other tactical mods. Give IA a try Thrifalas.

The short answer is that your strategy will not work, but I am sure that you could develop a strategy that would ...

With that many mages on the field? :D Monster #1 responds with True Sight either as a prebattle buff or his first spell in the battle - I don't recall which. Monsters 2 and 3 can see through invisibility inherently.

An Improved Anvil version 5 ecounter

Ok, for those of you who are very skilled and looking for a challenge, I would like to post a description of one battle that I faced in Improved Anvil (IA). Hopefully, this will help you decide whether you are up to the challenge. I think I did this when my party of 6 had approximately 3,595,500 XP ...

I like Tower of Deception fine, and suggest you give it a try. I have only face a few of the COM encounters. Those few have been appropriately placed and not that difficult. I often leave loot from mods on the ground, particularly if I think the loot includes unbalanced items. So, I don't have any ...

Saros, your ideas are good, but no one in my party is twelfth level. Which also means that if I found another NPC, they would probably not be twelfth level either.

My cleric (R7-C10) may have been able to turn some of those undead. That would have been helpful. I was so concerned about the ...

Help on beholder battle

Here's the scenario: I'm up against 3 beholders, 2 gauths, and 6 shadows/shadow fiends. All enemies have maximum HP (as do my team; 11 enemy vs 5 good guys :p ). The beholders do not see through invisibility, but can target improved invisible characters (i.e. improved invisible characters get one ...

Some comments: There's a number of ways that I find acceptable to deal with mindflayers (int drain 3/hit) and the Ulitharids (int drain 5/hit). In most cases 3 Skeleton Warriors and 2 Mord swords that are hasted can clean out the bunch while the party has a tea break. Be sure that the Mord swords ...

When I installed the game, I did it through the automated process, which puts it in the registry. I suppose that is why I could not succeed using VonDondu's method. I would have to find information on how to install the game manually so that it would not be entered in the registry, and then enter ...

The only way to greatly increase your spell casting rate is through Improved Alacrity (an HLA from the ToB expansion). (Note that one option from the Wish spell [ToB] is a double length time stop and improved alacrity.) Items that decrease casting time, such as the Cloak of Vecna and Amulet of Power ...
