Changing factions

I'm having a problem in my multiplayer game. With the 1.25 version, monsters won't attack. we've tried to compensate by having the DM control them, but the problem is if an NPC starts out neutral and then initiates an attack (in a town), all other neutral NPCs turn hostile. is there any way to work ...

I was under the impression you gain more skill points as a first-level rogue? not sure

Are you playing a frost giant or something? Dual-wielding two long swords is probably not the way to go, even if they're two good ones. I'd go with Feyduster in the off hand. Your AC does seem a tad low. I was ...

I gotta say, racking up the XP in NWN is not nearly as satisfying as in BGII. When you kill Firk or something and get 60,000 XP, man that is nice. Now, I know it's a different scale and all, but still. If you were to solo Firk in BGII, you'd probably gain half a level if you're around 8-10th level ...

Just ended, thoughts (spoilers)

OK, just finished the game. I didn't find the end fights as easy as some.

I must have missed out on a lot of experience, either that or carrying a henchman around for the first half of the game hurt me. But I only finished with a 11 ranger/5 rogue, and that even includes gaining a level from a mod ...

Nah, I'm a high Dex dual-wielding, parry-dodge ranger/rogue type.

I've got the gladiator blade (acid) and the dagger that does ice damage, but I can barely scratch it.

I decided to run away from it anyway.

I agree that the plot is not all that compelling. Of these types of games, I find the personal journeys are much, much more interesting. I found Icewind Dale somewhat of a bore it's just a dungeon crawl with no real interest. Tell me again, why do I care about this hapless town in the middle of ...

How to kill battle devourers?

Uh, I am having a big problem even injuring these suckers. Any way to beat these things in melee combat?

I'm on my first game/character, and I'm playing an elven ranger/rogue. I always liked the ranger class, and thought it was underpowered/underutilized in the previous D&D games. Since it's primarily a solo game, I wanted the stealth capabilities and I love the high DEX w/dual wielding/parrying ...

Question on henchmen quests

Hi:

I'm a little confused on the henchmen quests. In chapter 1, I apparently got some of the quest items, but they never asked me for them. Now I'm in Chapter 2, getting ready to go to Luskan (does chapter 2 end once you get to Luskan?), and I have, again, several quest items. The last time I ...

Frustrated early on

I just bought NWN and I'm getting a little annoyed. First, I miss not being able to have 4 or 5 or 6 people in the party. Secondly, not being able to equip or control the henchman is really irritating. They never do what you want them to do in combat. The gnomish sorceror keeps casting protection ...

I think the most important skills are Find traps, HiS/MS, Open Locks.

Pickpocketing is nice early in the game, to steal stuff from stores. There are a couple of nice items to get from robbing individuals, but not too many (a ring of regeneration available in Chapter 2 is nice).

For multiple ...

Draconis was indeed tough and gave me a lot more trouble than his daddy the first time through.

True Sight is a must, and I had to use multiple time stops. If you have a thief with use any item or even better, a bard with high spell ability, you might want to try laying some time traps and then ...

I agree that Anomen is quite powerful. With Crom Faer or Flail of Ages he dishes out serious damage and if you use any other sort of battle spell like draw upon holy might or blade barrier he's quite deadly.

I like Viconia the best as a cleric. all she needs is a belt of giant strength and she's ...
