RPG for playing at work?

First of all, please let me say that as long my work is done I'm allowed to play at work. I'm an IT and I mostly cover night / weekend shifts, so I have lots of free time to spare while at work.

Now, in regards to the topic, keep in mind that:

- I have a decent but not powerful computer at the ...

None... well, to be perfectly honest I play Counter-Strike every now and then.

After a long, long, long time of playing online (D2, WoW, Ragnarok, and so on) I'm done with all the endless grinding :P

When you invite them to join you will then be asked to remove one of your party, you will be presented with icons for each member of the party, including the new person and you then select which one you want to remove. The selected person then leaves, taking all their equipment with them, excluding ...

One question about companions

Hello.

I've a question regarding companions. Let's say that I've a full party (six toons), and i meet some NPC that potentially can join my party. What happen? Do I get the choice of joining him/her? Do I get a warning at all?

I'm afraid that if I keep a full party I'll loose some good companions ...

First of all thanks for the replys and sugestions, and sorry for the typo: i meant multi-class, not dual-class. My bad.

I don't have TuTu installed, and i don't think i will install it anytime soon. Personal taste hehe

I think i'll try Fighter/Mage or Ranger->Archer Thanks for your answers guys!

Dual-class archer PC?

Hello! First of all, sorry if this was discussed before. I tried to search, but i wasn't able to get a proper answer to my doubts. I'm not that good speaking english, nor finding key words to do a search. Sorry about that.

Well, I don't use mods, I can only reccomend characters based on my knowledge of the base classes from BG1 and of the kits in BG2. Just be aware of that. So far I haven't installed any mode as well, and i'm not planing to do so before i finish the whole saga at least one time. That said, i can use ...

Apart from the points Crenshinibon made, there are other advantages later in the game relating to High Level Abilities (HLAs), one crucial thieves one in particular, Use Any Item (UAI).

As you only get the HLAs relating to the second class with a dual classed character, if you go thief -> Fighter ...

Two points, although you might not have made a save, there should be an autosave you could use for your first character. I just realized. When i died i just closed the game, because as i didn't make a save didn't feel to keep playing at this very moment (didn't check for savegames, my bad).
Now i ...

Which PC would be more fun? (BG1 to BG2)

I must say that everyday i get more and more into the D&D world (or at least into the D&D based games for that matter), and i find it a bit overwhelming and extremely fun.

Yesterday, after [url="http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/baldur-s-gate-20/first-time-player-to-bg-97712-p3.html"]VonDondu's ...

You should definitely play BG1 before you play BG2. I will. At least one time unmodded, perhaps more... who knows? Then, when the next release of EasyTutu comes, i'll go for another run with my single-class evil Thief muahahahha!! (ok, not that evil)

BG1 is more "primitive" in some respects than ...

Yes, that is correct, The Fighter class is considered "inactive" until your character is one level higher in the Mage class. Then i'll gain again all the fighters features. Got it.

In 3.5 Edition rules, each level is added to the character's cumulative level. For example, a character with four ...

The LCD monitor I'm using at the moment only works at 1680x1050. Playing BGTutu in a window is an option, but I don't want to, because it's too small and it's too hard to see everything. When i played Arcanum i found some bugs, quite a big list for a game, but i never thought that there was such a list! I'm impressed, not only for the bugs but for the work!

Totally agree, specially with your last sentence :P

One thing that i found a bit... disappointing? is that they say that the game only will last for about 30 to 40 hours: Q: How long will this game take me to finish? What about replayability?

A: "I'd say the length is about 30 to 40 hours, and ...
