Did you put the items in your quick bar and try administering them directly, like a potion? Don't know if it'll work, but it's worth a try.

In any case, what I saw was that you had a chance to give them something if and only if they left you because of upset with your alignment or anything else.

There's no way to negotiate on behalf of Tarant to bring Caladon into the UK and then assassinate King Farad, is there?

As far as I can tell, the king disappears completely after the negotiations are over--is there anywhere he might be that I've missed? Maybe he's late to bed--I haven't found him ...
