City elf vs Human noble origins
Hey, without spoiling anything, can the people who have finished the game (or are a good ways in) with these origins help me out? I'm probably only going to play DA once this year, and really am attracted to both these origins. Which one ties in more to the main story, and which origin comes up more ...

Iron Throne Leaders (Spoilers)
I've noticed that in the two times I've played through Baldur's Gate, I always choose to kill Reiltar and co. when confronted by them in candlekeep. For me, it's an obvious RP choice; killing the people that have inflicted an enormous amount of strife on the region and yourself. It seems the game ...

Strategies for an arcane-challenged party
Well, after finally starting BG2 with my trusty imported Stalker, I'm having a great time. The Stalker is an awesomely fun tank class, one that I want to load up with potions of invisibility now that I see what he can do with his backstabbing. I took along Viconia to compliment (even though they ...

No combat music?
I just left the targos docks, and I've noticed there is an unfortunate lack of any sort of combat music. In fact, the only music ive heard is the occasional targos docks theme ever 15 minutes. Where's the music?

Running through it all...
I'm going to play through all the baldur's gate series before I go off to college next year, and I have a few questions. First of all, I can't decide if I want to play a mage (wild mage in SoA) or a thief (swashbuckler or assassin in SoA). I've tried out both a bit, and enjoyed both, but I'm curious ...

Major problem with BG on new computer
Ok, so: I recently bought a new computer, which is pretty new with a solid video card, etc (windows xp). The m-board is a V class "k9vgn-v", I began to install some programs on it, some of which being Icewind dale 2 and baldur's gate (patches included). Now when I restart or turn off my computer, it ...

haha, i think i added an unecessary "t" to "shapeshift".
but yeah, I think i may go with the extra muscle. In IWD I had one mage and he worked fine by his lonesome. I figure I may be limited in terms of versatility with just the sorc, but It will be ok.
Are there any other solid cleric domains? If ...

help choosing last member of party
I'm about to jump into my first IWDII run, and have what I think will be a pretty fun party in my head. The problem is, the 6th slot is as of now up in the air. I can't decide to have a pure fighter or a backup specialist mage.

Gold Dwarf Paladin3/Fighterx

no sound or music during prologue
when i start up a game and it enters the prologue screen (with the woman talking about her uncle, etc) there's no voices, no music, nothing. any idea what's up? I have movie volume and everything way up, so this is quite confusing.

Just beat HoW
Wow, this game was a great experience.
Icewind Dale is insanely underrated. In my opinion, it's in some ways superior to BG (not BG2). You really get to experience the inticities of your party, the battles are fierce....damn, awesome.

I just steamrolled Yxunomei...
Dear God, I only bring this up because I'm so shocked. I lost NO HIT POINTS during the entire battle with her and her priestly friends. It was ridiculous. For those who are looking for a good Yxunomei strategy; haste and summons will do wonders. Add a little bless and a magic missle, and the snake ...

Question about importing characters/kits
Simply put: If I import a vanilla class character (Paladin, Fighter, Bard) do I have the oppurtunity to kit them in game or do I have to use shadowkeeper?

Thanks for the replies, bros.
I'm having a major problem deciding between a Paladin and a dualed fighter/thief to run through the saga...Both classes are very appealing to me, and while on one hand I love Viconia and Korgy, playing as a Paladin is very intriguing, too. Any idea which class posseses ...

Paladins and evil party members
I'm thinking of playing a paladin (either that of a fighter/thief) and so far the class is appealing, except for the one pitfall: no evil party members would be allowable if you hardcore roleplay it. but then i got to thinking: why?
