Actually, funny thing, but TOB adds unlimited 'Water Edge' scimitars in the game. Go to lvl 3 of Watcher's keep, defeat Tahazar, and rest in his room. On occasions, your sleep will be interrupted by demons, and there is one particular group (I think 5*Alu-fiends) which have +2 chainmails, +3 ...

While a WS is extremely hard to solo, a Beast Master or a Transmuter are also very hard. I wouldn't recommend soloing a tactical mod with a WS, since that is quite a feat for even the most powerful class combinations. I had quite a lot of trouble soloing a WS through Ascension.

OK, so with the problems with BWL site, Improved Anvil 5.0. help had become scarse. I will write a few details concerning the mod, tactics for the harder improved fights, eventual quest order, sorcerer spell picks, some special enemies and their abilities, and some of the more important item ...

If my memory does not fail me, SCSII meteor can be reflected by spell turning. I have reported it as a bug however quite some time ago.

Just a minor correction. This is not a bug. MMM are enchanted missiles which on successful impact on target cast a lvl 3 spell, which actually is the one ...

The only thing better than Ring of Wizardry? Two Rings of Wizardry!

Actually, the better thing IMO is a Staff of Power + a ring of Wizardry. In my noreloads via extensive testing, I had almost total success with all of the three last items, IF the first two tasks I give to those apprentices are ...

As long as you play a single multiclass character, IA is a walk in the park. But then again, with a single multiclass character so are all the mods.

I don't know if you completed the IA 5.0 with a solo multiclass character, but this IMO is kinda misleading. Sikret (the mod's author) stated that ...

You can backstab with ANY weapon suited for a single-class thief. This includes piercing-type (dagger, shortsword), slashing type (longsword) and crushing type (staff, club) weapons. You can also backstab with monster claws when shapeshifted or spell-weapons (like Phantom Blade, Flame Blade, Black ...

That particular weapon is pretty useless in IA, although I had several occasions to put it to good use.

@Kerosene: I don't know if you're experienced enough with the game to actually win all the IA fights needed to obtain the necessary parts for the Grandfather. The lesser item, Guildmaster's ...

Only the base damage of the weapon is calculated via Backstab multiplier. That means (for example) that the Staff of the Ram will inflict (1d6+12*Backstab multiplier) + 1d4 damage. Same true for other weapons with additional damage bonuses.

The Daystar's double damage vs Undead works in two strikes ...

Well, I don't try to make it look easy - it was easy to me because I knew what to do. Reduced casting speed by 3, chaining Alacrities before the current one runs out and proper use of spell buffs + activating multiple HLAs under Alacrity effect did the trick. Most screens of the fight were actually ...

The best backstab weapon is the Iron Golem fists, followed by the Black Blade of Disaster.

Well, I haven't played IA in a year or so, and I have many IA games, but judging by the Axe of Hrothgar on the second weapon slot I'd say this one is a gnomish F/I, with most probably maxed levels (or something like 40/38). There is helpful new gear in IA, and things like removed XP cap and un ...

Well, this example you see is on Insane difficulty, that's one thing. The reason my character is not harmed is because of proper use/ refreshment of defensive buffs.

Second, this particular fight is not cheesed. If it was, you'd see Zallanora and her associate die under a Time Stop/ Melee combo ...

In the vanilla game:

5 waves of Cowled Wizards spawn before the last guardians (Zallanora & co) arrive. Zallanora (from what I know) is a powerful lich, that has taken over the body of a female elf and is the leader of the Cowled Wizards.

The vanilla Zallanora chains 3 Time stops and several other ...

I wasn't counting the +3 Plate and the Ring both in the -21, only the Plate.

Since it's BG1 we're talking about, I don't see the point about Improved Invisibility. Besides, AC gets used against attack rolls. What's the practical difference, in the end? It makes the enemy 20% less likely to hit in ...

However the plate +3 cannot be worn with a ring of protection +2 normally.

A player can use a Potion of Defense (or Invulnerability) to set base AC to 0. Still, full plate has the great advantage of adding +3 piercing and missile AC modifiers, and 4 slashing as well.

In addition, Improved ...

I wouldn't say that a Cleric kit dualled to Fighter or a Fighter kit dualled to cleric can be more powerful than a single paladin kit. Paladins can become pretty hard to crack later in the game, with the combination of Armor of Faith + hardiness + defender of Easthaven. In addition, Paladins can use ...

Negative AC is better. The lower the value of AC - the better.

However, I think that in BG series, Armor Class caps at -24. No further equipping of protective items will improve AC further, unless it's related to the specific AC modifiers (which cap at -20).

Well, it's bad to forget about limited charge items like protective spells and scrolls. They usually win you the battle. Example: Protection from Magic Energy scroll will last enough for the last battle, and in the same time will free you a 6th level spell slot. True sight scrolls can be used so ...

However, I DO remember that proMagic scroll negates the negative stunning effect of the Control demon ability. You may use a Simulacrum which is Protected from Magic to control demons and ...
