shadow ruins, i went in came out

Maybe if you never entered you are ok, but as for me, I'm screwed it seems

I tried to save gave before entering the Shadow Ruins thinking I'd try to see if collector's edition would let me outback in. Well, I go to my saved game with shadow gate running before me and it disappears as I go up the steps. Is there any help for this or am I screwed?
