No Discipline Timer

Downloaded the new patch and things seemed fine, but after I completed the Bounty for the Hunter quest and left Gimble's place, my discipline timer stopped working. Disciplines last for the normal amount of time, but the timer bar is empty from the start.

I'm looking for recomendations for my next RPG to play. My favourite games are Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines and Knights of the old Republic and I'd like something with a similar gameplay style. As far as setting goes I'm open to anything
