I still play it from time to time even now in this year of 2008. I'm currently in the HotU module/expansion. The good thing about the game is that it's easy on modern systems, even on laptops. The graphix are a bit dated, but the character development tools are still very interesting to try out and ...

I'm playing a wizard character and the spells that she uses can only be cast "once per day" aka "once per rest period". So in order to cast the spell again, she (and her party) has to rest which is done by pressing the "r" key. There's no way to keep a spell "active" that I know of. You click on it ...

I like it and am actively playing it - I'm in the middle of chapter 2 right now. I got the Diamond Edition and even installed it on my Vista gaming rig with the new 1.69 patch. It's an under-rated game imho.

Mystefystisk,

You may want to check your Pentium 4 processor to make sure it's not having cooling issues. Pentium 4's have a tendency to run really hot. Add a game like VTMB that uses 100% of the CPU's processing power, and you just might have severe problems with keeping the processor from melting ...

I like this game!

Even four years after it came out, it's amazing how the original NWN still looks very "with it" if one has a machine with decent specifications to play it on. The graphics and the gameplay is quite good even by today's standards. I'm just having a good old time with it! And this comment is being ...

I think I said it wrong, Tauros, sorry. The 1.68 patch WAS the "in-between" patch. When that was done, the "Update" feature of the game worked fine after that. But the "Update" feature was at the beginning of game load and I had to deliberately click on it before it would update anything. The first ...

I have the 1.68 patch, too, but I had to get some obscure "in-between" patch before the "Update" feature in the game would take it. I'm using the Diamond Edition DVD of NWN, btw.

After I got the "in-between" patch, the 1.68 went fine w/o any problems. No obvious game bugs showed up yet that I've ...

I've heard about the type of problem you have, but I wouldn't know how to solve it.

I always save the game state whenever I'm about to enter a questionable area.

Just making this post to let you know that there are many of us playing NWN, too, even several years after it came out.
