Just for effect....I'll nominate Claudius and Siberys for "Most helpful" again....

....reasoning...well just have a look through the TQ forum section and see how many helpful posts they make let alone all the other forums that I haven't seen....

Who is going to go out and buy up large on 4th Edition books?

Yes, I know it is "new and improved" but honestly if you are like me and bought up large on the 3rd Edition books knowing that it was a vast improvement on Advanced Dungeons and Dragons would you start all over again?

Have to admit a wee bit annoying and it is starting to look like I might have to ...

Just one further recommendation from me is try and find 2 Persephone Caress's as a weapon switch.....each heal's back 50 life per second....good as a quick recharge after a big battle.

From looking at all the advice I think you guys have covered everything....except one thing I note that everyone missed.....and its probably the most important thing of all....

Make the campaign setting rich . What I mean by this is put in history behind everything that you create in the world ...

My vote is for a Necromancer (wizard specialist)/monk...

Specialise in Necromancy touch spells from the spell book combined with the bonuses from a Monk unarmed attack....

I kind of agree with Rob-hin here a bit. If this friend of yours is going to only be a disruption to your game all of the time then a) say it to his face that this time during this campaign there are rules and limitations as to what they can do with their characters...
...or pregenerate each of your ...

Yup Siberys, its a tricky thing DMing. I think eventually with time you will realise that some of your friends will just stay away from D&D in the end (which is not necessarily a bad thing if they jeopardise the campaign all the time).

I am quite fortunate now cos I have managed to break down my ...

Hi Siberys...funny I should be talking to you here outside the TQ forum but anyways I'll see if I have any pearls of wisdom for you (just in case you were wondering I have been DMing for around about 15 years on and off - from regular D&D days right through to now where I too have a group that meets ...

I nominate Claudius from the TQ forum.

...I would nominate Siberys but he is a moderator...which I am not quite sure as to whether you can vote for him or not?...however if I can I nominate Siberys also.

I personally think that the importance and profile of the D2 game died when the creators moved and created Flagship...hence why I am not "holding my breath" so to speak for D3 to come out in a hurry if at all.....too much money to be made in the precious WoW for there to be any thoughts about a D3 ...

Thanks for that, will look out for some pegasus gear then.
Yeah, its a bit of a challenge. Worth while though I think....and will be a good experiment as to whether or not there is survivability for a single class caster in the game (considering the lack of life due to a single mastery).

Have to ...

Agreed, makes the pure one element, one mastery build all the more challenging I guess....but one thing is for sure and that is I'll "OWN" those little firey demon critters...lol.

Nah, seriously I'll continue with Pyromancer. Someone has to try it through to the end. Yup, I may die a few more times ...

Legguards of the Flameborn?

Just sorting through the items in the database to scope out what is feasible for my Pyromancer when he gets higher level (hopefully) and note that there are next to no fire armour types or weapon types that don't require a huge amount of strength.....

An example of this is Legguards of the ...

I have to completely agree with Claudius here....all except with the use of the caravan....just because I consider all my characters part of one big family so if I find the item legitimately then I should be able to give it to the "baby brother" of the character family to use via the caravan....but ...

I think for D3 Blizzard needs to "look around" and see what is working for other industry RPG games.

If you want to see how you can cross over 2 classes successfully to build a character all you need do is look at TQ....

If you want to see how to make character generation have an insane amount of ...

Still going strong with the Pyromancer - level 35 now and starting to realise how difficult it is not to have the extra 32 levels worth of attribute points I would be getting if I had a second mastery....I only have 1200 life and are working my way to Cerebus....

Sounds like changing the weapon was the obvious choice. I would recommend keeping all the bows that you make up along the way. You never know when they may come in handy again. I constantly find that I am changing spears to suite different monster types...
