So, how do you rate the "others" who do the dirty job?
I am curious, since you mention BG, how would you rate Irenicus and Bodhi?

As NPC's they are not effected by their actions etc hence are in a different boat really to the player character. However, thats not really a fair answer to your ...

Agree with AllegraFade, gathering is far more lucrative than any product profession. Mats sell for more than the final products made from them.

Apart from your trades when making money for epic flying mount training, and I have now put several toons through it at 5k g a pop, I found finding the ...

For me its the Underdark, based initially off the Menzoberranzan Campaign Setting of 1991. We spread it out from there, mixing in content from alot of other settings where it is relevant including some surface stuff but we keep ourselves planted firmly in the Middledark and work out from there with ...

Where does it say that mages have contempt and hatred for sorcerers?

Better yet, where does it say that ALL mages have contempt and hatred for sorcerers?

Klorox, I never said "ALL" you did, however the views of other classes on Sorcerer's is all in the D&D Core rule books and the Complete ...

in D&D spellcasting is designed for a pen and paper game, all computer games that try to use the D&D ruleset have to face two issues. First is that D&D PnP is turn based and second that a turn is 60 seconds. Neither of these work in a real time computer game. Hence the turn is generally reduced to 6 ...

How can you fully enjoy one without trying the other me thinks... I will speak mostly from my experience with the Persistent World I was Lead Builder for as I have spent the best part of 5 years designing that game so I guess its at the forefront of my mind now. Our scripting team included original ...

But Sorcerers don't choose to be sorcerers, they just kinda get their powers.

That works perfectly for ANY character of ANY background!

Not really in a place like Candlekeep. Sorcerers do gain their powers automatically but this breeds contempt and hatred from Mages hence being raised in ...

You're welcome to consider it a lousy game, if you want. No one will think less of you for it. The point isn't what you like or dislike, but whether you have good reasons for that particular like or dislike. Personally, I found Diablo a bore. So did CElegans, the mod of the PS:T forum, but she ...

I guess I would be one of those who consider Diablo mislabeled personally I consider it a straight out hack and slash, don't take that wrong though I think it is a good game.

On the IWD series I consider it an RPG because of its base story line and game mechanics, personally I think what it left ...

One of the largest effects is alignment and its effect on conversation options, in general you can still do the conversation but your alignment effects your choices. When you pull the game apart you will find lots of checks in the dialogs for alignment and reputation. So as your actions change your ...

This has probably been said somewhat here already..

Baldur's Gate you are creating a level 1 beginner character. Hence your dice rolls (however you choose to do it) are more about creating your characters natural tendencies and abilities towards a class, rather than a representation of prior ...

I will add a little on the druid, since I have a level 70 druid in end game instances.

As a tank Warriors and Druids are on par with each other, if you know how to play the respective classes they have the same number of taunts and the greater armor of the druid compensates for the warriors block ...
