Teleport trumps digging in TLC

Here's what you can do:

Walk to the chest behind the gallows, the chest where you found the augmentation.
Teleport to another region.
Teleport back to Headsman's Hill.

You will now be outside the opening to the cave where you ended your fight with Thunder ...

I agree. The scale is this:

0 - Unknown
1 - Unsung
2 - Recognised
3 - Familiar
4 - Well Known
5 - Famous
6 - Very Famous
7 - Legendary

Me, I would have changed "Very Famous" to "Renowned", but that's just me. :)

Corollary

Or you could use this knowledge to avoid the oracle glyphs so that you can generate more experience points by fighting the minions and summoners (although most of us have more experience than we need by this point).

Probably doll quest

It's the little girl that introduces you to the Sick Child quest.

Have you collected a hero doll yet? If not, win a doll at one of the pub games and see if the boy talks to you about the school teacher's penchant for collecting dolls; this will start you on the Doll ...

Did the Guildmaster give you anything else, such as the lamp? If you don't have the lamp or the guild seal in your possession, then you probably didn't complete the Guild training quest (check your active quests). If this is so, you need to step on the experience spending platform (you don't have to ...

You too? The only time the trader turned into a balverine for me was the very first time I played the game.

Jack must be a super bard, because he'll report that the arena seal has been monitoring my every movement even if I hang it as a trophy in a marital home immediately after the arena (before ...

My opinion is that the bard (notice how the bard has the same name no matter where you encounter him?) serves only to provide humor. Other than providing different rhymes about the hero's exploits, I haven't seen any other results from interacting with him.

Yeah, you just have to be patient and agile. The chief only has to hit you four times and the fight is over. On the other hand, I think I had to hit him more than twenty times even with a maxed out character.

But hey, this makes up for how easy it is to beat everyone else in the game, eh?

List of books for dark hat

You can find a list of books that work for getting the dark hat here:

The best thing to do is to collect only these books. If ...

Cliffside Path has the unlimited spawning of undead. That works for obtaining good alignment.

You probably have to go around devastating whole towns and then wait for them to respawn inhabitants, if you want to gain evil alignment.

And there are also the Chapel of Skorm and Temple of Light/Avo. If ...

Unfortunately, our opinions fail to change the fact that there are no alignment modifiers for the two spells. You can be totally evil (or totally good) and master both.

Divine Fury vs. Infernal Wrath

As far as I can tell, the only difference between Divine Fury and Infernal Wrath is the visual effect. They seem to entail the same experience costs to level up and seem to have the same damage effect.

Am I missing anything? If not, it seems such a waste to have ...

Getting the silver key from Headsman's Hill

You can still get that key although you missed the fight with Thunder.

Go to Headsman's Hill and stand next to the chest where you got the flame augmentation.
Teleport to another region.
Teleport back to Headsman's Hill.

You should now be ...

You get tall. In fact, at some point your height makes it difficult to break open barrels with your fists (you swing over the barrels; really, the only thing that connects is a kick which only happens about 1-in-4 swings).

Divine Fury

My favorite application of Divine Fury is during the fight against Maze, when he runs up to the middle level of the lighthouse.

I hate navigating those stairs in the lighthouse in Hook Coast. Whether going up or down, I tend to run into the posts and get stuck momentarily. And having ...

Philanthropy Leads to Larceny

The only way I've been able to get the 25 books required for the silver key is to resort to stealing books from houses. For instance, The Trials of Aarken and The Oakvale Raid can only be obtained from houses in Oakvale.

You can find a list of the books here:

Blind Fishing

I seem to do better when I fish with my eyes closed, using only the aural cues to determine whether the fish is fighting the line or not. Maybe my laptop graphics are too slow, but the sound cue seems to come quicker than the visual display. Whenever I do this, I almost never break ...

Chaos (or balanced alignment)

I find that the Chapel of Skorm and Avo's Temple make it easy to make large adjustments away from good/evil without spending "much." For the Chapel of Skorm, it's so easy to pick up a couple of mercenaries. By the time I get to Avo's Temple, I have enough gems to ...

Environment Makes a Difference

I think it depends on where you do your killing. If you're in town, then the people you kill will most likely get you evil points.

If you're outside of a town (except Necropolis), what you kill will get you good points (unless it's a wandering trader or guard). And ...
