i killed khad but he did not leave a demon stone to get out with this may be a glitch or are there any answers on this

I can only float and swim in the naga temple to get the eye i had to let myself be killed so i could be under the water. has to be a secrect to swiming down vs floating or treading water. I am about to go to the temple where i have to go inder to a chest and get a key.
