Thanks for the replies. I think I will take your advice, and give it a go in single player mode. Having not played BG1 (It seems to be sort of buggy running on winME), I am hoping that I havent missed too much of the story.

I am new the Baldur's Gate, and have a question about the multi-player game. I understand if I play in multi-player mode, I can custom create my entire party, correct? This sounds like a great thing to me, but what are the downpoints to doing so? Will I be missing out on a lot of the storyline ...
