I had exactly the same problem - checked every chest in the BMC and Wheel clan - all the lava rocks lying on the ground had disappeared, and all the chests which had previously held lava rocks didn't have any anymore. Incredibly frustrating! Until i found the invensource.zip file at Downloads ...
