lava rock
I had enough persuasion to go straight down and talk to Thunderstone, so I skipped the dredge. now I am doing the pagan gods and making all the offerings. I only have one pieve of lava rock and you need to two to complete the quest. I went into the drege and the mining tunnels in the wheel clan but there are no spawnings of lava rock, I think all the chests upgraded their contents on account of my level (41) but I cannot find any lava rock! Any idea where I can find some except in the wheel clan? Dont know where I found the pieve I have, my party memeber had it from somewhere. I checked Black mountain clan as well, but might have missed it? any other places I could look? Thanks!
Black Mountain Mines, they're not in chests but just laying on the ground.

I had exactly the same problem - checked every chest in the BMC and Wheel clan - all the lava rocks lying on the ground had disappeared, and all the chests which had previously held lava rocks didn't have any anymore. Incredibly frustrating! Until i found the invensource.zip file at Downloads :: Terra-Arcanum
Basically you just grab one of teh invensource.mes files, chuck it in arcanum\data\rules, then the rare gems etc should start being sold at normal shops. I grabbed mine from the shop to the southwest of the blacksmith in shrouded hills.
