Do you know what kind of BIOS your system using? Not all BIOS having the AGP mode setting available to ...

You have to change the setting from your motherboard BIOS not from the display card. Depends on the system BIOS you use, for Award BIOs, it is under Advanced Chipset Features -> AGP Transfer Mode: 4x , set it to disable. Disable means fall back to 2x or 1x speed.
