Yeah I was jumping all over the place trying to find it and it just wasn't there.

It doesn't matter now as I found another one inside but I think it might be a mistake.

Had a look at the walkthrough on this site and at 1 it says there is a shipping container with a plasma rifle. I can't for the life of me find it.

For those people that sound sad, don't be. The site and general Internet activity evolves as it always will. Maybe SYM will become popular again, maybe not. The good thing is discussion still continues on different areas of the site which is a good thing.

When I get to Duncan's inn in Neverwinter he said I could store any equipment in the inn. However, there are no chests or anything to put items in. Is it simply a case of leaving my gear on the floor? Seems a bit messy to me...

You can always steal it from her using sneak. just make sure you have a high sneak and security skill and have as much chameleon as possible. invisible yourself as well :)
