Ok, that explains the game mechanics. But where's the narrative sense in that?

I could see Shield effecting the crucible indirectly. A stronger shield fleet might give the crucible more time to fully deploy or preventing the reapers from damaging (and thereby weakening) the crucible.

Hammer on ...

The atmosphere/tone of the game was quite a bit darker/grimmer than ME1/2, sometimes maybe a bit too much for my liking, but it served the plot very well. This was afterall genocide on a galactiv level commited by an almost invincible enemy that we were facing. Still I enjoyed the game a lot and ...

I like Dragon Age very much and I understand why we don't have more NPCs. It's simply a LOT more work to integrate high quality companions into DAO than it was to do so in say BG2. (Besides that not all companions in BG2 had the same quality)

Despite that I would still have loved to have some more ...

If I remember correctly they planned to make it so that your skills/spells become more efficient, if you specialize in a certain field, but that didn't make it into the final game.

I suppose that bar is just a remant of that idea, which is without a function now.

Depends a bit on what you mean by your question. If you want to know whether it will change the game for you, then the answer is no. Regardless of whom you support for the throne you will get a dwarven army for the fight against the blight. (Depending on whom you choose you will have to do slightly ...

Topsiders Honor:
The three parts are "hidden" along the deep roads.

First is on a regular darkspawn in the southern parts of Caridins Cross.

Second is in Rucks Cave in Orthan Thaig.

Third is on a ancient darkspawn (Boss) in the dead trenches.

Once you collected all three parts you can reform ...

In general you can build your "group" however you want. This obviously includes playing alone. Up to Lothering you have little choice as to who is in your party, but after that there are only a few places in the game where you are required to bring a certain NPC with you ( like Alistair to the ...

Since you speak of three dead drops I would assume that you simply missed one of the four.

Just check all of them (if you can't remember which you have done so far):

1. Denerim Market Square (near Ignazius if I remember correctly)
2. Redcliffe village (on the "docks" near one of the houses)
3 ...

Brazier in Ruined Temple (minor spoiler inside)

I just completed the urn questline on my second character and I wonder about that brazier in ruined temple. Is there any reason to light it up ?

I did so on both playthroughs but in hindsight I wonder if there actually was a reason to do so. Sure, I got a codex entry on the purpose of the brazier ...

For the most part the game has been pretty stable for me. Alt-Tabbing out of the game sometimes crashes the game (especially during conversations), but other than that I had little trouble.

I also experience the memory leak that others have reported from time to time, but shutting down and ...

My mage had serious trouble defeating Loghain, too, but Alistair and Oghren worked fine. (Did it several times while playing around with different dialog options at the landsmeet)

So my suggestion would be to use a fully equiped warrior character. Depending on whether you want to grant mercy to ...

Basically you can join as many guilds as you like. From an RP PoV some combinations might be strange and some quests might be tricky, if you choose certain combinations.

Imperial Legion and Fighters Guild should be no problem, though. Afterall the fighters guild is an imperial guild.
