i think if you can manage to get a weapon enchanted to +X (whatever DR he has) you can kill him quite easy if your saves are good enough.
one more time i was thankful for my choice of rogue/paladin, evasion and divine grace in combo are a great team.
(i am quite familiar with real DnD as a min/maxer ...

as mentioned i didnt have any problems with most spells, the DC was quite manageable.

the spell-breach and black blade sound like an interesting idea, i will try this.

i did upgrade my sword, didnt get it that one can add plusses to it though so its just +5

the lich stripped all the damage off ...

k, thats indeed another good idea, thx for your help so far.

i just managed to beat them down, the two golem devices did not help, but the third with the crystal attracted one so i could use some healing in safety.

was pretty cool, i got 2400XP per golem, starting to be epic now :)

gah, totally forgot about the golem devices, didnt make them because i had no problems until then.
these should help a lot i think, especially the slow-device that should counter the haste-effect.

the golems have +36 to hit and are hasted, avergae damage is about 40.
i'll post some new things when ...

D.Windsor, you are right about that, but only if you compare such a character to a full caster.

i took this character into HoU and, due to my starting level 12 and without henchman, was a bit challenged sometimes, but not too much.

the only thing i miss is the ability to put some spellmantle or ...

if you're in the single campaigns, you can find a nice spot to rest and it will wear off by itself. -

doesnt work.
level drain is permanent, at least according to the DnD-rules. NWN handles it a bit different (save if it applies at all, in DnD its save if it gets permanent iirc)

resting the ...

hmm, i dont think i really want to spend a rogue stone every time i get drained. maybe i shop some scrolls of restorations then, or perhaps i find some equipment again (like greater amulet of health).
or i have to edit my char and put ranks into disable device, i will see how annoying these traps ...

level-drain

how do i get rid of it?
i dont have a cleric at hand nor do i have scrolls with restoration.
just startes HoU, do i have to get back to recieve some healing or do i meet some people capable of this?

just in case i find a cleric henchman, how do i say him that he should cast restoration?

i just finished SoU

i found it surprising that the new addons did not change they way UMD works.

anyhow, i am currently playing SOU, finished NWN looong time ago and am now enjoying the different story and the much better graphics. (thx to my radeon and quincux@1280)

i have a paladin4/rogue4 going into divine ...

i did not try the duergar but have an aasimar paladin and an tiefling thief/barbarian.
the progression is a bit slower but due to special rules they start as your other party.

take a third class as a ranger if you are all about twf, you get ambidex and TWF for free. (at the cost of one caster-level)

spellcraft is only useful if you want to counterspell, and parry is a waste imho.

if you don't want to read the manual:
take a look at http://www.wizards.com/dnd
there is a section 'learn to play'

why multiclassing ist a good thing:

you can have the special benefits of a class,
for example evasion as a rogue 2.
(if you get your reflex-save you take no damage instead of half ...
