Found the problem

I went back and replayed from an older save game. It seems that if you talk to the Sloth Demon before you set your party free and tell it you're going to go back (to free your party), they aren't there when you come back for the final battle later. I don't know if that was ...

Well, I got it from Steam, so assumed it would be updated but you know how that goes. I'll patch it with the latest and see. The only thing I can think of is that before I released my party I had gone and talked to the Sloth Demon, maybe that did something.

Has anyone else had the problem of getting to the Sloth Demon but not having anyone else there? I've released my party, they all disappeared, but didn't come back when I got to the Sloth. Can't beat it alone, wondered if there was something I hadn't done.
