I guess it could be classified as cheating, but the line between cheese and cheat is sometimes so slim that which is which is in the eye of the beholder. If you feel justified cheesing, use ctrl+y on Imoen to return her to normal form, then tell her to rejoin (provided you have the CLUA cheat keys activated).

One thing I've noted on my computer is that if I have the virus scanner's "on-access scanning" option enabled, there is a short pause every time a spell is cast. Virus scanners in general should be turned off while playing, as long as you remember to turn them back on again afterwards.
