How to enchant multiple effects on an item without really trying!!!

Post by UserUnfriendly »

This took me some time to figure out, but i have discovered the EASY method of putting multiple enchantment effects on items and using the lowest number of enchantment points possible...its really really easy...

you will need a grand soul gem filled with a saint to test out multiple constant effect items...first, get an idea...

like a nighteye and water breathing belt or ring....

go to a guild enchanter, click on him/her, and choose enchant...click on item, click on gem and choose constant effect...

choose one of the effects you want on your item, then add it with ZERO magnitude, duration, area, etc....

write down how many enchantment points it consumes....

then cancel out, and choose the second effect you want, also with zero values...

write that down...

night eye consumes 1 point, water breathing 15...

so, this is where it gets simpler....

SEQUENCE the effects with the lowest points first!!!!!

if you create a water breathing and night eye item, it will consume far more charges than a night eye water breathing item....

try it yourself!!!! get an idea, item and sol gems, then click on a guild enchanter, add the effect water breathing and then night eye, add the magnitude you want, then note the value..

try again with night eye water breathing, add the magnitude and you will see that the enchantment points of the first set is much more expensive than the second set....

i was just able to create a pair of shoes that had water walking and restore fatigue 3 points, and by simply sequencing the restore health first, i was able to make the item work.....water walking first and adding restore fatigue costs too much to work at all...

but if you put the lower base cost effects first, it works great...if two or more effects have the same base cost, the order does not matter...

now i plan to make a ring with firestorm, frost storm and lightning storm values...

oh yeah, i also had another idea today....

roll this one on for size...

you know if you add damage attribute target self effect to an enchanted item??? it costs as much as a regular effect does, which made me think...

what if, itemmaker is updated by a mod so that a target self with a bad effect actually has a negative effect on the enchantment costs???

so if you want to squeeze in a mondo damage spell into a little bitty ring, you add like a damage health or attribute effect into the ring, and it gives you more enchant points you can use for the mondo damage spell...makes perfect sense in a role playing framework, since to make uber items you must take uber penalties in using it...

like fury, its a very strong weapon, but to use it the player has to pay a penalty to equipp it....

makes sense???? :p :D :)

That is some fine experimenting you have done.. I wonder, does adding a very weak enchantment before a big enchantment lower the cost of the major enchantment below the level that it would have if it were the only encahntment?

yes and no...

a single enchant is always going to be cheaper than a multiple, but i suspect the high cost second one is going to be cheaper...

however whenever you are adding multiple enchantments the number of enchantments is actually going to have a cost....

4 enchantments with no magnitude what so ever costs like around 100 points all by itself....

i really want to see the algorithmn they use...

i can tell you since i have been playing with tes, that in the enchant screen for tes its a straight addition method...it just simply totals up the enchant cost...wish the guild enchanters did that...sigh...

some truely sick and powerful blasting rings and amulets may be made by my method...

try a exquisite ring with firestorm and lightning storm...

if the fire doesnt kill them, the lightning will, and if a creature is immune to one, the other will blast it...

fireball frost ball and spark ball rings is my way of dealing with any creature, including elemental atronachs...

"Walk on water/restore fatigue (thats such a contradiction - shouldn't they have called it stamina instead of fatigue?) sounds good, especially for Sheogorad and Sadrith Mora areas."

this one i know...

choose restore fatigue FIRST, and then walk on water, and with exquisite shoes, you can walk on water and restore 3-5 points, i forget which constant effect...in fact, if you abuse the magnitude bug, choose magnitude of 1-8 then equipp, reequipp until you get 8, you can abuse it even more...

think about it, run all day without stopping, walking on water when you are island hopping...i mean even a restore of 2 points will let you run forever, and with a high restore fatigue, never fear hand to hand combat enemies, like vampires again...

i especially like fire storm and lightning rings, those rings kill anything, even winged twilights, cause each elemental damage type is rolled seperately, i think, so even monsters with high magic resistance are toasty....

and of course on everything else, its just a pure killer...stacking multiple elemental damage is the best blasting mage weapons i know of, cause if one elemental attack fails, you got more....

hehhehehehhehhe

i made some 500 enchant point rings in tes, and made a personal plugin, called....

BUNBUN.esp....

hehhehehhehe

now my favorite one is invisibility, and SUMMON GOLDEN SAINT.. constant effect on self...(476 point!!!yikes!!!)

picture this, you are levitating along, and you spot a annoying monster, like a ash slave on the ground below you..it starts throwing fireballs at you...ggggrrr.....i simply equipp the ring, and a golden saint drops down, and starts whaling on the ash slave while i am nice and toasty and invisible...oh and is handy for harvesting golden saint souls for azura star....

in fact, you can even do the nasty splat trick...

levitate up really really high, to where you cant see the ground anymore, then equipp the ring...look out below!!!

take off your constant effect levitation item...you did make a nighteye and slowfall belt, right?? (in that order, nighteye is cheaper, and you only need 1, only 1! slowfall point to drop from any height and take no damage! works great with spell boosted superjumps or even constant effect superjumps...)

and when the saint hits the ground, it takes mondo damage...easy to kill....

plan on making a mage disruption ring, sound and silence in combination, should even work on ascended dreamers....sorta like gagging them and blasting their ears with britney spears....hehhehehhehhehh

Very soon, Morrowind will be devoid of all challenges, not that it has many to begin with. :D :p

Great cheese as always, User, please keep them coming!

I didn't know you were into strategy, UserUnfriendly. I have been waiting for MoO3 for some years, too. Still waiting for Master of Magic 2. How many days, weeks and months I spent with MoO1 and MoM back in those days, I'll never know...

Wonder how many minutes it'll take you to dig up cheese for MoO3. 5? 10?

By the way, does anyone else have a problem with Morrowind crashing all the time? I had that problem on both my computers. It always happens outdoors, and it can crash after 2 minutes or 2 hours, it's really unpredictable. Memory leak?

Morrowind Tweaks

Written by Jason L. Hubsch (a.k.a. Wes Ide)

June 5, 2002
Version 1.0

6) Explanation
In your Morrowind game directory is a file called Morrowind.ini which
holds all the information that the game uses while playing. Open it up
with Notepad and immediately go to File->Save As and save it as
MorrowindINIBackup.txt, which will save the original version. Now you
are free to edit the Morrowind.ini file as suggested below, and then
save it as Morrowind.ini over your original file. If you experience
any problems and/or want to return it to its original state, simply
delete the edited version of Morrowind.ini and rename
MorrowindINIBackup.txt to Morrowind.ini
The best thing to do is to search for the first line in each tweak
using the Edit->Find menu in Notepad, then edit it as suggested.

7) Morrowind Tweaks

A) Framerate
Max FPS=240

Everyone that is having freeze problems or desktop crashes should go in
to morrowind.ini file and edit Max FPS=240 to Max FPS=60

well, strategy games, i simply cheat and edit a lot...i actually love strategy more than rpg in many ways...but its easier to cheese rpg, and i despise real time strategy, turn based for me, and i never really got into civ and alpha centauri, even tho i have both games...

but moo2 was one of the first games i ever had, and i have many happy memories of making invincible fleets of single doomstars that can obliterate an entire fleet, over 40 doomstars in one frigging turn....

then using a solar converter to deathstar annoying planets...the entire galaxy turns against you, but who cares???

just before i sorta quit playing i remember making antarrian titans, you know the really cool ships, in my ship yards, and my favorite hero was the antarries commander....

yaya....i just got it, but wont install yet, as the frigging store was out of the cheat guide...grrrrr...i mean the pocking cheat guide was out 3 months ago, but the game only shipped last week, and they ran out of the cheat guide, and supposedly so many things were changed when they revamped the game the guide is out of date anyway....

and if i install it, i will play all night, and i need to study tomorrow...

advanced router troubleshooting, or why a volt ohm meter is your best friend, and everyone should have a time domain reflector for christmas...sigh...

a bit more morrowind, i really really love the alternate face plugin i installed, my pc looks really kicking like judo...as i am a happy and founding member of

female pc's, tho i am male rpg player's association of america....

better known as the pervs...

anyway the new face plugin looks 500% better, and uses about a hundred less polygons, so my system is running morrowind better than ever before, tho i think all the tweeks i put in helped a lot...

i forgot until today just how indecently fun telekinesis is...

make a ring, cast on use, with a exquiste ring, or amulet, with 100 feet telekinesis with as long a duration as you can squeeze in...

now my newest toy is a 100 ft constant effect telekinesis...hehhehehehh took 500 points, but boy is it fun!!!

hey, if i created a plugin, a really small one, with such a ring, the "ring of one born every minute" would people want such a fun toy???

throw in invisibility and 100 ft of telekinesis, and you have something almost indecently easy to steal stuff with...

and i am currently playing out mukul's (spelling ?) cloak mod....its downloadable in morrowind summit, and he planted dozens of cloaks with fortify skill enchantments all over morrowind, and since a lot of them are near the secret masters and in middle of private residences, its really hard to steal them...i am using all kinds of tricks and having so much fun....

like the infamous levitation trick...get out of sight level of any bystanders, and use telly to pick the lock and steal stuff with...and his mod provides you with loot scattered all over to find and collect....

and his cloaks are smoking cool to wear....i really like the red one with stylized lightning bolts, really goes well with my full daedric set of tes customized super armor....

by the way, some of you are downloading custom artifacts, yes????

now for the sake of game balance, the makers usually put in a penalty, like drain agility, or drain strength to compensate for their super abilities...right???

here i come to save the day!!!

(sung to the mighty mouse cartoon theme music)

ok, so you got this killer mage staff you just downloaded, or a set of really killer new artifact weapons that have this annoying habit of draining strength when you equipp them....which the mod maker put in for "game balance"

(you guys know that those words is like a personal challenge to me, right????)

make a amulet with guild spell maker, resist magic 100% for about a few seconds....then put amulet on, use it, go immediately into inventory, equipp the item...if you did it right, you will have magic resisted the items bad enchantment, and you keep all the good benefits...you should see a "resisted magic" message flash in your screen.

oh yeah, this also works for dagoth ur items, fury, and other very powerful loot with a penalty....

oh and if you are a breton, simply use the cuirass of the savior's hide...way over 100% magic resistance....

300 hundred damage in one little exquisite ring! I call it the U.D.R...

try this add this on a exquisite ring total charge will be 400 using 100 charge every time it is used.. but you have to wait a couple days for it to work again. any ways i call it the Uber Death Ring (U.D.R)... . It's Useful for those who don't own the game for CPU and can just hack into the software. So they would have the X-box version

So here it is!

fire damage: on touch
magnitude:100
duration:2
area:doesn't matter but i put it at 10 just to be safe

fire weakness: on touch
magnitude:100
duration:1 is only needed
area :doesn't matter
________________________________________

ok now this is what it'll do

the fire damage lasts 2 seconds doing 100 damage while the weakness has just enough time to kick in while the fire is still hurting them so it's like doing 100 damage.. then 200 damage!.. on one enemy!! so a total of 300 damage!!!

Enjoy!

PS. you can add target to those enchant ments because it does look cool to see a giant ball of fiery death flying around but it wont be able to have the same damage becuase the ring won't be able hold it all.

but if you do find something that can hold more enchantment over 120 please let me know!

PS... again. I'm Posting some info on using this on Flame Atronachs or anything else whith fire resistance 100%

I am not sure if the game will let you allow to do this but it should.. the fire damage will not do any thing for the first second.... so the message will pop up saying does not effect them. but after the next second the weakness will kick in making they're resistance to the U.D.R (Uber Death Ring). So then just hurting with 100 points of fire damage... "So there is a way to kill those things with fire.. hmmmm".
