could you make an item that regenerates for only a short amount of time, but triggers itself to restart right when it finishes, effectively being a permanent regenerating item?
You could make a ring with a limited regeneration ability but it would be incapable of restarting ...

The regeneration opcode in BG is rather annoying in that it only works with a limited timing mode. Thus it is not possible to make a ring of regeneration that works while worn. A spell with a limited duration would be possible, though.

There are a couple of quests with evil solutions. You can choose to drown the slaves in the Cloakwood Mines, deliver Abela to Ramazith, kill the paladin in Baldur's Gate who is looking for you if your reputation is low, and so on (I cannot remember them all at the moment).

Using the XP cap remover is fine, just keep in mind that your PC will lose any XP in excess of 161,000 when exported to BG2.

It has to be either the outside of Durlag's Tower or the Undercity.

His avatar is made to look like he has two weapons but technically he only uses one of them and the other one is in his packpack. It is an oversight on part of the developers that the second sword is not unstealable.

A cleric/thief is limited to the weapons a cleric can choose and none of these can be used for backstabbing so you will not be doing that an awful lot anyway.
I don't think that it is actually labelled as a quest sword (i.e./ Perdue's Short Sword), so you would have to buy it and read the description to find if you had the right one!
It is.

There would be a lot of globals to set and he would have to through an awful lot of files to find them all. It is not a working solution for completing the game.

If it works, it would only solve the problem with the repeating movies and not the broken quests.

The problem is obviously that globals are not being set and this will cause many problems for the of the game. I read that one of the patches fixes a problem with the game running out of globals but I think it was an older problem. It sounds like what you are experiecing, though. You say you have ...

Whereas all wizard spells are available on scrolls, only a few priest spells are. Consider it laziness on BioWare's part. I think temples should have such scrolls for sale.
