In Windspear Hills there is 1 Adamantite Golem that always spawns, no matter your level. It in on the second level of the dungeon in the secret room.
ah right, that one
i was thinking of the first golem encounter, much earlier
if he has a weapon to pass a stone golem, he can hit the adamatite one ...

i dount he is facing a adamantite golem. the golems scale with level and the adamantite one is the high level one, being the strongest golem in SOA
he is probably fighting a stone golem
both of those have the same weapon requirements to get hit, but the adamntite one also has VERY high resistances ...

which enemies are you talking about specifically?
+1 weapons can hit the majority of enemies in the game, only a few need +2 and even fewer need +3
sometimes it's not the enchantment on the weapon but the type of damage that monsters are resistant to. for example clay golems can only be damaged by ...

yes the bonuses of the tomes you find in BG1 are permanent and carry over to BG2, making it posible to start with higher stats than a freshly rolled character

Without the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion of BG1, the exp cap is 89.000
with the expansion the cap is 161.000
A newly rolled character ...

ok, there are some things you can do
BUT this might be considered a cheat and it will give you (the player, not the character) a lot of power, so make sure not to abuse it, abusing your power will suck the fun out of the game, only use it for emergencies
if you really hate your current party, i'd ...

kmonster is right on
don't worry too much about what might or might not happen
if you do face enemies which feel like a brick wall you can always ask for help
and yes, there are some pretty nasty monsters in the game, especially if you've never faced them before. it would be a boring game if all ...

difficult question, one i can not simply answer with a yes or no

the structure of BG1 is looser, there's more exploration, that is true. But I think calling it elder scrollish is maybe a bit exaggerated. Sure there are many areas you could skip, and those zones have quests that have no direct ties ...

Hmm, gah! How long?! Oh, don't answer that. :X I'll blow right through the Stronghold quests, there are items (and party members!) I'd want to retrieve and quests I'd definately want to do before this... time to ponder how to proceed... Thanks, Isilon.

If I were you I'd just continue
Don't go ...

short answer: yes and you will have the time and opportunity to finish anything you didn't do yet

long answer: yes, but it will be a while. you'll have to make due with what you have now. depending on your choices you might skip a zone right after spellhold (and you can't go back to that). Don't ...

yes the G3 fixes is the gibberling 3 fixpack
i understand your hesitance to use such large "fan made" fixpacks, i've played the game for years and only started using the fixpack a few months ago.
it is worth it though, many things do get fixed. things which are obviously errors.
but yes, i've ...

irst of all, is your game patched and do you have the G3-fixes?

did you try to enter spellhold through the alternative route and then changed your mind, and as a result saw the spellhold mansion cinematic twice? I used to get duplicate NPCs as well in the past but it's been a while since that ...

weird indeed
i can not imagine that fatigue with be a test against CON instead of an ordinary timer

could be a bug, i'm getting some odd bugs too sometimes. Aerie losing and regaining her bonus spell lots from her HLAs for example.
I wonder if it has to do with the game not actually being ...

i don't know, i never use lesser restoration
looking at the spell description it says it gives a day's worth of fatigue
so maybe she had more than a day to go before becoming fatigued she doesn't get penalized straigth away?
just speculating, as i said i've never used that spell

good to see it resolved :)

Yes fatigue is a major thing in BG1 because even the slightest travel between maps takes many, many hours. Travel of 1-3 days is even quite common. I'm glad that in BG2 the travel time is a lot reduced

it happened again, a 6th, 7th and 8th spell slot in Aerie's became empty for no reason. And this time i hadn't cast any spells yet since resting so even uncast spells are lost.
This completely undoes the 3 HLAs
I only have a party of 3, so my spell slots are precious (i want to minimize the amount ...

losing bonus spell slots

I've encountered yet another bug
It's the second time now that i see that Aerie's bonus spell slots from HLAs are empty, as if the slot was given by an item which I unequipped and reequipped.
I think that so far it has only happened when the memorized spell has been cast, but I haven't really paid ...

a few things i'd like to add

about being a tank: by the time you have CF you're near the end of SoA and close to ToB, where havig a shield isn't all that useful anymore because most enemies (certainly those who need to be tanked) have such good THACO they will hit regardless of a shield. Dual ...

i did a quick test and leveling up has no effect
i was suspicious because each time i level up it says "backstab multiplier increased by: -2" as if the game lowers it again to 5, forgetting i'm an assassin with 7. despite that odd message my multiplier remeains 7, luckily.
i guess that's an ...
