I've experienced an issue with Windows 7 where only Multiplayer was broken. In that case you need to run the game in windowed mode and everything will be fine. I've never had a problem in WinXP except that in WinXP Media Center Edition some of the sounds (voices during the cut scenes) have muted ...

...Rayic Gethras finishes casting his spell, Sphere of Chaos. Whatever the effect is that hits Nad I do not know, but he must have failed his save and he dies instantly. There's a chance of disintegration.

My strategy for dealing with Rayic early using a solo melee char is to drink 1 or 2 Fire ...

It's been about a year, but I don't recall Anomen doing much in ToB. My PC even wore his gift to the end... pfft, not that he noticed.

It's not a romance, but the Saeravok or Imoen dialogues are notable in ToB, a bit more so if they travel together after she helps him.

1) does this apply to non-thief weapons (if the character dual classes)? Yes, and missile weapons too. It can be very effective with Melf's Minute Meteors or similar fast-attacking abilities. 2) is it applied at levels 1, 5, 10, ect. Or is it applied at 1, 6, 11, ect.? 5, 10, etc. Their THAC0 doesn ...

I do not believe the potion stacks with the boots. It depends on what patches you are using. I forget which patch, but one of them changed the boots of speed from a haste-effect to a simple movement speed effect (as in BG1).

If your boots are improving your attacks per round, then the potion of ...

What other weapons do you recommend? Maybe Axes for Azuredge and Axe of Unyielding? Consider Bastard Swords for Foebane+5 (even +3 is nice against undead) or Jhor the Bleeder (very nice against spellcasters) rather than long swords. Foebane's +4HP per attack is really nice when using whirlwind, and ...

'Tis a fine portrait.
What class do you think would make the strongest warrior? If we're just considering single-class characters, then I had plenty of fun with a dwarf Kensai with high constitution (mostly for the +5 Saving throw against spells). As long as I had potions of Defense or ...

The walkthrough mentions that Lothander waits at the Blade & Stars inn (SEast BGate), have you already checked for him there? Keep in mind that the Diviner and Temple of Umberlee won't have your antidote, you are ...

Since the original poster is surely finished with this thread, I'll take a stab for explaining the half-hits: I think playing BG2 without patches resulted in a buggy dual-wield that would alternate the weapon being used rather than adding an extra attack (the record page erroneously showed an extra ...
who should I dump in favour of a decent Mage?
Edwin is surely the most powerful mage NPC (his amulet gives him bonus spell-boxes), but he's evil so you might prefer Nalia, Imoen, Aerie (Minsc's Witch), or Jan (the gnome). I've never understood why Nalia and Imoen were ...

It's not a listed class combo, but I found an Avenger Druid dualed to Fighter at level 21 to be pretty powerful, especially if you're concerned with your buffs being dispelled. Even if you're in human-form, you can be dispel-resistant and weapon-immune via Ironskins (although the potion of Defense ...

I've played through BG and BG2 dozens of times, but I still remember some of the scars of my first BG2 play through. Here are some of the things I like to do to make the going smoother. Note that some of these might be nearly spoilers if you enjoy thinking of ways to overcome the challenges in a ...
