Dark Flame Discussion thread

Post by thantor3 »

I thought I would open a place where, for those who are interested, we could talk a bit about the Dark Flame story. Not so much about story ideas, since that could tend to ruin the spontanity of the dynamic, but for things like the direction the story is going in, general observations, loose ends people would like to see tied up, etc.

One of the things that strikes me is that there are many subplots we could pursue: the ruins and the Rai'ya storyline, the Shadow Master, the Nippy and Loner subplot, rescuing Anicka's men and the Abomination, and so on. Any thoughts on which of these we might want to explore?

Any general observations people would like to share? :)

Thantor:
Hmm...Maybe rescue Anicka's men to start? We could even tie it inot the shadow master story? We could have one of the Darkflames kidnapped by the Drow to speed things up?

On a lighter note, I've drawn a picture of Thantor to add. :) Just have to scan the darn thing...

"You people"?!

As in 'You beautiful people whom I worship from afar.'?
Or something far more devious?

The noblest :D
Cartoon Law III
Any body passing through solid matter will leave a perforation conforming to its perimeter. Also called the silhouette of passage, this phenomenon is the speciality of victims of directed-pressure explosions and of reckless cowards who are so eager to escape that they exit directly through the wall of a house, leaving a cookie-cutout-perfect hole. The threat of skunks or matrimony often catalyzes this reaction.

I would suggest that this thread is certainly open to spam - as Viv and Veh said, "the Noblest of Followings." :)

Here's my question: Does anybody get the joke when Gwally uses his semi-sentient club? :D

Story line: part of the charm of our story is the surprising twists that we introduce, and then seeing how the other characters react. So, if someone were to be abducted by Drow...... :D
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

Oh, that was a semi-sentient club you were talking to? I thought those were conversations with your... never mind. :D

Personally, I enjoy the opportunities for character development in the story. But I also feel this needs to be balanced with adventure and actually confrontations with the forces of evil. So rescuing Anicka's men and going after the Abomination sounds good to me. :)

I would like to finish the plot Loner and I have started. Did anyone realise that I mentioned a Tarrasque? I would have thought we could have fought it... ;)

I thought it was some sort of multi-dimensional space that is bigger on the inside than on the outside.... :D

My thought was to deal with the Tarrasque then go after Annickas men. :)

Well, Gwally made it back to the keep, so no one has to wait for him anymore (assuming you were waiting.)

But, did he make it back in one piece???!!?!  :D

What, you mean you want me to post something that isn't spam? Well, ok... :D

At the risk of sounding like a cast member from a slasher flick, I think we should split up. :D It won't take all of us to kill a tarrasque, and the rescue of Anicka's men will probably be more of a stealth operation, since we don't have the power to take on the Shadow Master and his whole army... ;)

Georgi's idea about splitting up might be a good one. Then Loner, Nippy, and whoever else could finish that quest while Thantor, Anicka and whoever else could assault the Shadow Master dungeon. Even a stealth operation here will take more people, though. Especially if someone is captured by the drow. Then it would be like the more like the Underdark.

BTW Gi, I made a white hole once in a vanilla ice cream cone. :D

But why would the Drow want to capture one of us rather than just kill us? ;)

@Than :rolleyes: :p :D
