Thank you all for participating in this survey. It's clear now that even with a superior computer, lagging still happens sometimes, especially when all the big monster(dragon!) comming out or too many monster at a time, or after saving/loading a game. But I guess this has something to do with the software configuration(maybe defragmenting will help?). The environmental sound really slow down the performance, off it if you find that the game is always lagging.

Anyway, BG2 is still a good game, worth playing even sometimes it lags. Hopefully neverwinter night will be better!

celeron 300@504mhz (the legendary Image)
128mb ram pc100 ram
v3 2000
sb live value

i play 800x600 resolution, runs ok with EA on, footsteps on, all graphics max. but sometimes when i make my people maneuver their way to the other side of the map the enhanced path finding makes the game choppy but it'll eventually clear out.

Also if there's a big fight, like the irenicus vs. my party and the mad wizards at the asylum, it goes really slow but i'm thinking that cannot be avoided.

Does anybody know what happens if i turn the environmental audio off? Like what parts of the sound / music it really affects?

Running 800PIII 128M ram, Voodoo 5, Windows ME.

Lags sometimes, goes away if I move out of the laggy area then back in.

Crashed twice total, patched and no more crashes.

processor- v slow
memory- relatively small
graphics card- ok
i see a lot of windows....

and thats on my dad's computer- on mine it took 45 mins to install- and then my dad wiped it as he wanted to put one of his progs on. v annoying- but it wasn't worth playing on my computer as it was very very slow. dunno why as i have a better processor than him (celeron 300/400??) but piss all memory. before i upgraded it you couldn't even install windows 95..!

PIII 800 mhz, etc, etc, etc...still runs choppy on occasion. I suppose I should turn off EA, although it really annoys me that I can't make a brand new computer run a considerably less new game smoothly with all settings at maximum while juggling a baby and a chainsaw.

PIII 733, 256 MB RAM...ummm...i'm quite computer illiterate so I'm, not sure what else. I know I have a nvidia card thingy with detonator driver. I did a full install have have the video and sound options all on full. The game runs great with almost no slowdown (except, for some reason, in the temple district). It has only ever crashed once.

Ok, here is my Ubik-made (by my own very hands Image) computer:

SB Live value
40xCDROM
Ricoh RW-DVD
