Get this I have the GOTY edition on Xbox right now I have a high level mage clocked the expansions before I did Morrowinds main quest and I'm head of the Mages guild anyway, I've spent hundreds of hours perfecting this character and I'm about to go into the final battle with Dagoth Ur.
Then I get to that spherical door where you pick up the ring and the spherical doors open and guess what! Get the ring but the ****ing doors didn't open I'm so shattered right now and there is no way I can get in and finish the game.
LOL you guys will not believe what happened to me.
Hm. I remember I once managed get through it by hysterically jumping against the area where the two halves of the sphere part. It was on PC though. I noticed I was making slow progress through the crack of the door, one polygon after the other. Eventually I just reached a point where I could click on the actual door behind it.

Yeah it's so shattering that was when I was using original Xbox, now that I've started again on 360 GUESS THE F*** WHAT? THE MAP DOESN'T WORK you can use the large map that shows towns n everything but not the close up one showing your immediate surroundings, god knows how I'm going to get through the game when I can't find where I'm meant to be going

@ coot: mods dont work on xbox
i had a similar problem. heres what to do:
1. get a spell to levataite 100 points (for one second, on self) and soultrap on target.
2. get near the door
3. cast it multiple times, and attempt to back through the door. you should see a red mist and be able to see everything in the local area; just pick which part you want.
the levitation goes away if you save and load, but it might not work on 360. they may have patched that glitch.

"Of humble birth, he entered the Emperor's service in the lowly status of courier. Dispatched to Balmora in the waning years of the Third Era, he arrived in Morrowind, ignorant of the role he was to play in that nation's history."
