The Rancor

Post by MrRandomGuy »

Contrary to popular belief, you don't need the stealth skill to defeat the rancor guarding the Vulkar back entrance. You can select the corpse pile, put a frag grenade in there, then the odor there without using stealth. If you go past the corpse pile the rancor will turn around and attack. This makes stealth completely useless for this game.

There is another way to kill the rancor beast for more exp.

1) Use Stealth
2) Plant Mines
3) Throw Frag Grenade
4) Lure the beast into the mines
5) Retrive your mines once you get the 750 exp for killing the Rancor and 250 for completing that part of the quest

I doubt it is contrary to popular belief though. I think it is pretty much thee way to kill the Rancor as - well - it is the quest-solving way to do so.

Who thought you needed Stealth?

The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.
