Hmmm, I'm considering buying this game after purusing some of the gamespot reader reviews. I am having trouble enjoying the newest generation of zero substance and flashy vistas of our contempory games. I'm looking for an old school immersive rpg poor graphics just expand room for the imagination - does this fit the bill? Is anyone still playing in 2008
Cheers
Considering buying should I
i still enjoy playing through this game once in a while. The fact that you can choose between magic and technology is something i really like. In most rpg's you have to choose between being a fighter or a thief or a wizard. Not so in this game. personally i always liked playing a tech character more but that could be because i like going through the trash to get parts. I do think the quests are a bit straightforward but thats not always a bad thing. Anyway i would give this a try if I were you. You will enjoy it I am sure.

Bah,
It's not that buggy, if you patch it with the latest official patch.
I've played MUCH buggier games.
The only bug that really annoyed me was freezing during turn based-combat. That really was bad. Save often.
Haven't tried Drog's patch. When I played it (last fall), his patch had some changes to balance on random encounters which I almost always forgo. The latest may be different.
