Noob shares an experience with fat security guard

Post by fe3333au »

Hi Guys

Just joined after lurking for a couple weeks.

Just discovered this game and am enjoying it ALOT.

In the process of DLing unofficial patch upto 5.5 ... previously patched the game with 1.2 official and 5.4. Didn't realise that I needed ALL previous patches :p

Anyway while I wait the 8 hours (I'm on dialup  ) I thought I'd share an experience with the fat security guard outside the Art Gallery (think his name is chuck)

After a successfull seduction (am playing as female Malc) ... I returned sometime later and since I was thirsty I had a drink ... ooops I got carried away and drained the man (wasn't quick enough with ending the feed)

This is what happened ... I have blackedout as it is a spoiler.
EDIT - found Spoiler button

[Spoilered ... highlight to read]
Spoiler
Well he died and then soon the cops turned up with squad cars
I received a new pistol as per police issue

Later when I visit the prince in his lofty penthouse, the door guard is his brother who is in mourning due to sibling dead.
nice touch in the game I thought.

I am currently in Chinatown and talking to the drunk ex-hitman made me laugh.

I did have some problems which I imagine the full patch package will fix.

1. Fat Larry didn't offer to teach me finances ... initially I went with no skill and on replay I went with 1 skill ... both after successfully completing the carpark suitcase mission.

2. Hollywood Baron doesn't do anything after i tell him that I've deal with the hill mansion person ... ALL coversation begins with him saying 'hello twice' and then no spoken dialogue (but text seen) indicating that he will send some cash. My log is not altered.

3. Old keys I've picked up (but not used due to lockpicking) stay on the keyring.

4. found another severed arm and wanted to take back to Downtown appartment as a keep sake ... I already have one in the fridge in Santa Monica ... well placed it in the fridge, come back and no longer there ... Santa Monica one still is ... but then again that is a different memory

5. Dancing is difficult, have danced in Insanity, Ash Hole and Confessions (but location there is in the corner and patrons circle dance in the middle, ignoring me completely  ) ... anyone ever danced at the Empire Towers Hotel ???

Anyway just thought I'd share the story

cheers :D

 Mmm.. another seperated piece from the malk ancestory line..

1. thats pretty interesting.. i've always managed to figure it out and scab him for info ;)

2. stupid bugs.. i'm playing the untouched version, only with a 5.04 "true patch". it could just be bugs and such. have you tried jumping back a couple of save games?

3. that just happens. it doesnt matter, you dont have like.. inventory cap for keys or whatever.. its just like a safety incase you ever need any of those keys again.

4. always good to have frozen dinners on stock.. though it is much better having your pet bringing you fresh fish every night *i wont elaborate in case you havent adopted her yet or dont know etc ;) *

5. The asylum love.. jeanettes club is the asylum.. ive spent many anight there paying her "visits" ;) particularly after a certain quest ;) . as for the empire hotel, i am very fond of that song, a smaller god by darling violetta. i dont often dance though. i wouldn't be suprised if you could.. music leads do dance ;) though we malkavians often hear the music long after its ceased

enjoy the rest of the game ;) i look forward to hearing more of your adventures

You don't need ALL previous patches, the last one contains all the others. In fact it is not recommended to continue a saved game done with an earlier patch after updating. This is known to cause losts of problems very similar to the ones you mention here!

Thanks again for the patch info ... I had previously DLed only the changes patch
I am also replaying with 5.04 patch, until the 5.6 comes out as I read it is not a long wait for that one (as I feel Wesp5's attention to detail makes it a superior game) ;)

Anyway just to share additional info;

Astonishingly, it seems that the above action carried some import with the local media as it is reported on the TV news.

Cheers :D
